Exclusive scoop on next season's "Greek" gay goings-on

Today alpha scooper Michael Ausiello reported that one of the developments in Greek's next season will be that gay frat bro Calvin's new roommate will come out of the closet.
Intriguing (and potentially daydream-making) information, to say the least. But we happened to speak to series creator Sean Smith yesterday as well and have even more juicy details about what's in store for Calvin and his new bro...
Find out more after the break!
According to Smith, Calvin (Paul James) will indeed be getting a gay frat brother this season ... and he'll wind up being more than just a study buddy, if you know what I mean. Sean says that Calvin will have a romantic relationship with his gay bro that will end with a cliffhanger at the end of the season ... so may as well start getting ready for that now.

We also of course wanted to know whether sparks might fly again with Heath (Zack Lively), Calvin's Season 1 love interest who came back into the picture as Calvin's relationship with Michael (Max Greenfield) fizzled, but Sean said that's not in the cards, noting:
"Their relationship was borne out of two people who were in the closet in the Greek system who found that was more what they had in common and less how they connected on an individual level. As their options opened, they found they had less of a connection."
Bad news for Heath fans, but good news that Calvin won't be fading into the background. For the first few eps Calvin will be focused on how much he should trust Evan in light of last season's developments, but the fratboy lovin' should kick in before too long. Woo-hoo!
And we also got a little more detail on the previously-reported news that pop star Jesse McCartney would be joining the cast as a friend of Calvin's. This is still the case: McCartney's character comes to CRU as a Freshman and former high school friend of Calvin's. He's a jock and Evan wants him in the frat and thinks it's a cinch for Calvin to snag him, but the lures of Kappa Tau are of course considerable. We understand Jesse's character will eventually be pulled into a love triangle with Rusty and a young lady.
