Flaming Politics video blog (Episode 8): What happened in Pennsylvania? No, really ... what happened?

If you are of the gay persuasion, you're more likely to read current events blogs than a straight person. And really, we love you for it. Japhy talks about this fun fact, responds to a viewer comment (flag pin, anyone?), and turns to the big story of the week: the Pennsylvania Democratic primary debates, which he has yet to see (at the time he taped the vlog, anyway).

Taking inspiration from perhaps one of the greatest American comedies of all time (Clue), Japhy provides several possible outcomes. Will Obama be caught in the Conservatory with the candlestick? Or will Hillary be nabbed in the Lounge with the revolver? And more importantly, which one of them shot the singing telegram?!?!

Find out after the break!

If I can come up with 5 really good questions despite not being an American, will you do your next vlog shirtless?

How did PA not make a decision?

"5-8 points"??

From the v-blog about PA - "Couldn't you have made up your mind?"

They did make a decision, they decided that they liked Sen. Clinton. Did you mean to say they didn't make the decision you wanted?

"It takes a village (to make Village People)"

The split was 55%/45%.  I believe that's a ten-point difference, although math has never been my long suit.  Hillary's definitely in this for the long haul.  She won't be listening to Maureen Dowd and all the screaming mimis telling her to bow out.  The Democrats need to come up with a strategy other than name-calling if they plan to defeat John McCain in the fall.  Meanwhile the press is lapping it all up, singing hosannahs to McCain, on the one hand, and sneering at Hill and BO on the other.  In the meantime, no one is talking about the issues: Children and the elderly are uninsured.  The rest of the world thinks of us as a bad joke.  The planet's falling apart.  Iraq is back to base one.  And the chimp is still in the White House, where he's just one blow job away from being impeached.  (At least, that's what it would take to get him arrested in D.C.)  Jesus, how we fruitcakes love to blog!

Like anybody's even listening.

Pennsylvania loves Hillary

Pennsylvania was pretty pro-Clinton. She had strong endorsements from the mayor of Philly and the governor, plus a strong suburban backing. The voting station here in New Hope was surrounded by a small army of Hillary-lovers. Not really clear why, although the Hillary backers stumping at the polls were all 55+ and female.

I agree that this is wearing on too long. But how to make it stop? Democrats are clearly divided here and it looks like they will remain so. That said, Obama really hurt himself badly by not spending more time in PA. General opinion around here is that he neglected PA, given the time spread between the last big round of primaries and our's. I do know that the lack of access to him has made the Philadelphia Gay News somewhat irritated towards him, which in turn has resulted in grumbling around the community.

Obama took a calculated risk not spending more time stumping in PA and I think that it hurt him very badly, despite the money he spent. Flyers attached to your doorknob just don't work as well as live rallies, especially in a state like PA.

+10 Points

Simply for this description:

"Flaming ... flames, flames ... from the sides of my face ... breathing, breathless, heaving breaths ..."

Clue, FTW!

For Japhy

Are you left-handed, right-handed or ambidextrous?

When did you become interested in politics?

Do you impress upon your friends (especially LGBT) how important politics and voting are to the rights of LGBT Americans?

How long does it take to make your vlog?

Geeze, Louise

One would think that if ever a group were in favor of everyone being able to have a say it would the GLBT crowd.  Yet, it seems many of you want the race to be over...meaning Hill, or Obama, should drop out...before every state has had a primary/caucus vote.  So, you free speech fans want to deprive people in say Oregon of their right to vote on this thing?  Thanks much...NOT!  I wonder how you would talk if one of the candidates were pushing for same sex marriage recognition, or having Social Security  cover the cost of gender re-assignment surgeries, or the like, in a big way.  Would you be as anxious to get the race over with...before every GLBT in the nation had had a say on those issues?  I doubt it.  If you want progress on your issues, you need to back the candidate most likely to work for-or, at least-not impede same once elected.  That would seem to be Hillary Clinton.  You know politics.  If you want Hill's support, the first thing she is going to ask is "what have you done for me lately?"  Obama would probably sic theTaliban on you, and McCain would have you invstigated by the FBI as threats to National Security.  Hillary is your best hope, so why not support her, and support the ability of others to support her?
