"Forbidden Love" video clip update: Broken Axel

Today's Forbidden Love clip pushes the Judith-as-beard story hopefully that much closer to its resolution when blithely sociopathic boxer Axel jumps head-first into Christian's private life. Seriously, what is it with these boxing types being such busybodies? Why are all these macho men so overwhelmed by an all-encompassing need to know where Christian is sowing his oats? It's like Querelle with boxing gloves.

Anyway, Axel goes totally off the rails in this one, which is actually pretty fun. And after the speculation in the comments that Axel might be after more than just sparring practice with Christian, I'll admit that I initially took this line to mean something else entirely:

Is that what the kids are calling it now? After all, "rosebud" is just soooo Citizen Kane...

You can see today's clip after the break, and as always, thanks to Nanna and The Gays of Daytime for the translations.

Beard is growing faster after all !!

This beard thing is annoying now. Judith is starting to volunteer now for the beard thing.. And looks like both Christian and Judith enjoy each other's company and enjoy showing off each other as Macho boxer and sexy girl friend...  Oh God , i dont know where this is gonna end. Axel has turned into a real stalker after all. Why doesnt he mind his own business always interfering into Christian's private life.

And we didnt get to see Olli on screen at all this episode. I sincerely hope this show ends with Christian and Olli together. Somebody assure me please ..!!

Don't worry

According to the official spoilers from DasErste (the channel that airs the show) Olli & Christian are safe until mid-August (that's as far as the spoilers go).

Oh no! Fabian's going to

Oh no! Fabian's going to blow Christain's cover! But thank God because this whole pertending to be with Judith thing is getting old. Also I'm sorry, but do Fabian and Judith NOT have good vision because they didn't even notice Axel standing like 5 feet away from them.

Only in the soap opera

Only in the soap opera world.... Good riddance though, I want Fabian out of the picture asap!

Only a soap, but

whats wrong with the writers that they just have to make things so contrived? Not only Fabian, but Myra too from Hollyoaks - they just have to run in and blab, blab, blab - like they think the soap is really about them.

I honestly can't speak from

I honestly can't speak from experience because, other than Ollian's story on Verbotene Liebe, I don't watch any other soap opera, but I would guess that those melodramatic complications come with the territory. The thing about VL is that it's mostly well written, at least as far as Olli and Christian go. The integrity and respect they have shown those characters is rare, and must be commended.

I completely agree with you...I think the Olli and Christian storyline is extremely well written and acted. The writers have shown immense respect and care with how Olli and Christian are presented on screen. It really is a beautifully realised love story. The writers as well as Jo and Thore have every right to be proud of what they have put forth so far.

I'm glad the beard storyline is coming to an end. None of the participates really wanted to do it, especially Christian, who was against it from the get go.

And when did Christian all of a sudden become Axel's buddy? We know that Christian can't stomach the man, so why all of a sudden is Axel claiming friendship with Christian and acting like gum stuck to the bottom of his shoe? I think a serious and dangerous man crush is taking place.

I'm with guyboy on this one

I'm with guyboy on this one - I mean, did Judith really need to be there for a bloody newspaper interview? The only reason anyone wondered about Christian in the first place was because Olli was always around, but he's now staying well away, which should basically solve the problem. The idea that, even after they've met Judith, she suddenly has to be glued to Christian just doesn't fly. If anything, I'd think they'd be even more suspicious that Christian went from "It's none of your business" to "See my girlfriend? Right here, girlfriend. Note the 'girl'. 'Cause she's female. And I'm straight. And she's a girl. Friend. Girlfriend." in the week after they started doubting him. And really, is it not kinda ridiculous that one single fight is going to be enough to cement him so firmly in the boxing world that he can afford to come out then?

Ugh, it's just...they're pretty, but this storyline has veered severely into the territory of "stoopid", and that's just kinda depressing. On the other hand, storyline=screentime, so if this is what it takes for 4 minutes a day of pretty, it's what we must endure. In an effort, however, to find the positive:

1) Fabian getting hurt is always funny.

2) Axel being so hilariously batshit crazy and so coded gay is a nice touch.

3) Um...they're still hot? I dunno. I sincerely doubt this is the end of it - although it has moved far faster than I'd have expected in other areas, so maybe they'll just speed right be this "beard" debacle.

synaptic misfire...I have to gracefully disagree with you on this one...this whole beard storyline maybe unpopular, I dislike it myself, but it is very realistic. The sports world is saturated with homophobia, boxing being one of the worst. I don't know one major or minor boxer who is out in public. Throughout entertainment, sports, music and even the work place there are plenty of women acting as beards for gay men. It is real and it is vast. Nevertheless, I don't think we have much to fear regarding the Christian and Judith beard storyline since it's about to end as soon as it started. There are some pretty bright writers over on VL, unlike the nonesense we get regarding the Luke and Noah story.  And I must concur with you that both Jo and Thore are beautiful, but they can act too, and very convincingly as a couple in love.
