"Forbidden Love" video clip update: Gimme back my canapé!

Really still not much going on for our gay German cuties, but at least in this episode we see them in the same room together. And what a room it is! In today's clip Christian and Olli get invited to Brideshead Rebecca's family estate, and proceed to level the party buffet like a swarm of locusts. As much as I love the fact that the gay couple isn't simply swanning about gasping about the decor for a change, I'm wondering what the guys have been doing to work up such appetites ...

Anyway, for the most part the scenes are about Gregor (who has quickly become my favorite satellite character as of late), but it's nice to see the fellas goofing around in the background. Now can we please get them another storyline? I'm not beyond sending a certain sham bride from Iraq over for a visit, if it comes to it...

You can see today's clip after the break, and as always, thanks to Nanna and The Gays of Daytime for the translations.

    So funny!

H I L A R I O U S! I like how they seem to be so at ease with each other, that they do not care if people around them 'know' or 'notice'..

    Excellent!

    If they have a virtue...

..it's that they act like a real couple of young guys.  Not everything has to be a melodramatic soap scene.  Bickering over the sanctity of one's own plate of food is the sort of thing you expect.  Christian is an athlete, so it's no surprise he's got a big appetite.  I also though it was cute the way they both stuck so close together, like they're joined at the hip.  They certainly don't put any effort into hiding that they're together now do they.

The aristocratic Lahnstein's probably rue the day they invited these commoners up to their castle though.

    Of course both Gregor and

Of course both Gregor and Christian used to diddle illegimate Lahnstein daughters in their time. Nico (daughter of the old count and Mrs. Brandner) and Sarah (daughter of the old count and the housemaid) respectively.

Oh soaps, what tangled webs you weave!

    Back in olden times..

Aristocrats diddled commoners quite a bit, but generally didn't invite them to parties.  Clearly there is still some adjustment to egalitarian social values needed even after all this time.  We were a few gags within spitting distance of a Caddyshack movie here.

    Ollian vs The Buffet

Before the subtitles were available (thanks, Nanna & Tihkon!), I watched the unsubbed video (thanks, Ivan!) and thought Ollian stole the scene during Rebecca's welcome party with Olli's one "throw-away" line. I laughed out loud when the entire room of the stiff upper crust crowd froze momentarily and stared at them.

They're so funny and so cute as they work over the buffet table as a not-so-subtle couple. For this clip, Olli and Christian were essentially background performers - though, would one still call it "background" when they're actually in the foreground of the frame?

Btw, Brian, there's more Ollian after this scene back at No Limits where they tag-team scold Gregor for being rude to Rebecca.

    Real Couple

When I watched the un-subtitled clip I laughed out loud at Olli and Christian, even though I had no idea what they were saying. It was just such a pure couple moment. I couldn't wait for the subtitles.

They really are doing a horrible job of covering up their relationship. People have to be blind not to see that they are a couple. I wonder if VL is playing with that intentionally so that when they do "come out" everyone will basically respond with "Tell us something we don't know."

If they're still trying to hide it...

...they're not trying very hard, that's for sure!  Between their joined-at-the-hip proximity, Christian's food theft and Olli's sniping they really were living up to assertions others (such as Olivia and Lars) have made about them acting like "an old married couple".

I think that this is part of what makes them appealing.  They're played as a couple even in non-romantic scenes.  It's not a situation where we have a dramatic moment of passion and then the rest of the time they act like indifferent friends.  Thore and Jo are playing it so that even when they're just hanging out somewhere they behave in a couple-y kind of way.

Yes! Totally! In a 'couple-y kind of way' and very much in love!

Unlike Luke and Noah, you can see these two as a couple

and you would think- oh they must be together. Whereas with Noah and Luke- if I walked into a cafe, and saw them together, I would have no clue. I would think- oh two straight guys hanging out. It's not just about the touching. It's about the small invisible things. I've been on the subway watching couples- straight or gay. Whether they touch each other or not. There is always this body language chemisty that's there.

Me too! Laughing out loud. I had to watch that moment several times, so funny!

Well then Gregor must have been blind temporarily without us knowing, because he sure did NOT see 'it', even when thrown into his face! Haha!

Possibly. It would be an awesome 'no-event' when they do come out. They might even bit disappointed for the no-reaction they will get. Ah no, it would be very refreshing actually, to see that nobody 'cares'. Except Axel that is, but that storyline will be over soon, I hope.

They really ARE glued together! So sweet!

    Olli and Christian truely

Olli and Christian truely were like a hurd of locus going through that buffet table. Bless their hearts...they must have come on empty stomachs the way they piled their dishes high with food. And did you notice how every few minutes they seemed to come full circle all the way right back round to the food. Both of them seem to have bottomless pits for stomachs.

That really was a LOL moment when Olli chastised Christian for always taking food from his plate. And talk about glued together! Could there be any doubt that they are a couple... I don't think so!

It's the little moments like the buffet scene which give so much authenticity to the Ollian relationship. Thore and Jo are just doing a terrific job in their roles.

Next week is huge for Ollian. I can't wait!!

    Not long now, Brian. Friday

Not long now, Brian. Friday the 1st of August (I think) kicks off their next big storyline, and it is pretty huge. Although I have to say, I do really love seeing them have couple moments, even if it is in the background of other peoples' storylines (I think I watched their buffet moment about 10 times in a row). And the variety of expressions Christian pulled during the buffet was amusing....

That's what I like so much about Thore! He is so good with these expressions for Christian!

    Yes they need a new

Yes they need a new storyline, the only one I see coming is when Christian comes out to the boxing community, other than that I cant think of any other twist.
