"Forbidden Love" video clip update: Help, there's a girl in my bed!
When we last saw our adorable German soap couple Christian and Olli, they had just discovered Olivia in bed with them, likely reeking of booze. In this set of clips from Friday, we pick up right where we left off: Olivia's on to their secret romance (aka "Forbidden Love") and don't you know it, she's out to use her knowledge to further her own career. Before Christian can clear the air with his brother and beat her to the punch, he finds out that a Big Boxing Agent is coming to see him at the gym. Will he be outed by Olivia before he has a chance to seal the deal?
Check out the cliffhanger of a clip after the break (the follow-up runs today, so hopefully we'll know soon what happens!)! Thanks, as ever, to Gays of Daytime and Nanna for the clip and subtitles. Submitted by on Tue, 2008-05-13 09:18. |

oh snap...
will he confess about his forbidden love? dun dun dunnnn....
;-)
Will Christian do it?!
I can't wait to see if Christian tells the entire gym he is gay and going out with Olli. Talk about cliffhanger. Excellent episode!
I know the next episode has already aired today in Germany, but i'm anxiously awaitng the subtitled YouTube clip to be posted by Nanna later tonight.
I've never been so excited over a SOAP. I normally don't even watch SOAPS, but the Olli and Christian storyline has me glued.
I know!

Maxine, I know the answer! I taped and watched the episode, but you'll find out later! ;o)
Same with you, I don't watch Soaps... except for this one. But only Ollian. I tape the series every day, but when I watch it I fast forward anything not involving Ollian. When they're not in an episode, I delete the whole episode. I have no clue who all the other characters are, except for Gregor, Judith and Olivia..

Will he fall off that cliff?

That was so cute.
Sorry the link still isn't clickable. AE doesn't love my Mac.

i love you nana!!!
i find it very interesting...
Just watched the ep and i'm
Just watched the ep and i'm pleased it turned out the way it did. My heart was palpatating when Christian stood on the side of that boxing ring with everyone waiting to see what he had to say. Another really solid episode.
jUdE...The only other SOAP I've ever watched was HollyOaks for the John Paul/Craig storyline. So being so addicted to a SOAP is really a rarity for me. Then again, I blame this on Jo and Thore's strong characterization of a couple in love and some solid writing and storytelling. Plus, Olli and Christian are such a likable couple, how could one not become addicted.
No soaps..
EXACTLY! I watch HollyOaks also, but ONLY the clips of JP and Keiron (haven't seen any of the JP and Craig storyline yet.. ). In 1994/95 or so, I watched EastEnders because of Simon and Tony. Once that story ended, I never watched EE again, until recently with the Christian and Steven storyline, but I think that ended now in some very strange way. I watched ATWT for Luke and Noah, but haven't watched any clips recently, because the comments I read about the storyline is so bad, I can't bring myself to watch the NUKE clips anymore.
I am amazed at the reaction Christian and Olli get and I smile! Wonderful!

Little school girl!
Markie I just wanted to say that you are so cute and funny!
I'm with you on the VL spin-off with only Ollian!

Thore...
Every time Thore says something in English I just sort of melt. The man is hotness personified.
This episode and the one following it (which is up with subtitles on Gays of Daytime) have set up what promises to be an interesting conflict between Christian's desire to make it as a boxer and his coming out process.
I'm really looking forward to this storyline playing out.
I need a time machine...pronto!
Hey - we posted the conclusion today.
You can stop with all the damning now.

"Forbidden Love" video clip update: Will he or won't he?
Just
Just wanted to tell you how happy I am, that german television is also enjoyed in other parts of the world. I'm studying filmmaking and it's so frustrating that german filmmakers always think they have to copy the american stuff, because it's so much better. Ok we could not make a matrix movie, but i think we can also tell good stories.
THe resason why i think VL is better than other soaps is definitly the crew. I had last year the pleasure to be on set for on day and we had a chat with the head author, who is a really nice guy. And he talked in such a passionate and ethusiastic way of the show and there storyline, that was really stunning.
Most people think soap operas are bulls**t and others think, well it's just a soap opera and somehow you expect the makers to have the same opinion, but they really do love what they do. And i think the same i for the actors.
Thank you for sharing that.
I am unable to tell the quality of VL overall since I only see the Christian/Olli storyline, but if the rest of it is as excellent as that part of the show, then I can only imagine how great the rest of the show really is. At first, I was hesitant about the Ollian s/l, but it's grown on me to such an extent that I think it's the best gay romance on TV right now, regardless of its national origin.
I love the filmmaking style of these European soap operas, combining the traditional film techniques of any prime-time show with the traditional narrative techniques of a daytime show. Currently, American soap operas are in steep decline; an attempt by Guiding Light to utilize elements of European soaps--specifically, more on-location filming--is proving to be a disaster, sadly: the powers that be behind American soaps have forgotten that the key to a successful show is strong, character-based storylines, not plot-driven gimmicks--which is pretty much all they are these days.
As a fan and one-time student of the soap opera, this is distressing to me, as I fear the genre may completely disappear within a few years. Perhaps if one of the cable channels--Logo or Bravo or Lifetime--either acquired the rights to VL or AWZ or created a soap in the European form, that may just save the genre. Unfortunately, I'm not holding my breath.
