Another day light on Christian/Olli, but we do see Olli's continued frustrations with his long-lost evil twin Olivia, and should take note that the man does not mess around when it comes to kidnapped children, dirty money, or people that interrupt him while he's working. (Note to Christian: Don't pop in to give him a hug during the dinner rush or you'll pull back two bloody stumps!) When Olli tells Miss Greedypants that he's going to the cops, will she do the right thing and turn in the kidnappers?
You can see today's clip after the break, and as always, thanks to Nanna and The Gays of Daytime for the translations.

Need change!
Seriously! Olli needs a more challeging job! He must be bored out of his mind. Not that what he's doing is no good, but for soap-material, it's pretty bland..

R.I.P. - Sayif [2006 - 12 June 2008] - my cat, run over by a car..
But you see, because he is
But that would mean...
They'd either need to give him a job in one of the other character's sets or else add a new one for his workplace, which they're not likely to do.
While not quite as bad as when virtually all of As the World Turns seemed to take place within the Snyder kitchen, VL is like any other soap, conserving on set usage. This is why everyone from students to wealthy aristocrats spend so much time either in the No Limits bar or the Ollian living room.
Maybe once we're past the boxing storyline there'll be some hope for a career change for Olli.
Actually a large percentage
Actually a large percentage of VL does take place at Schneiders. It's usually where the aristocratic characters meet the non-aristocratic characters. Top of my head, recent meeting scenes that took place at Schneiders are Angsar and Tanja discussing her blackmail of him, Nathalie and Lars (including all of them finding out that baby Sophia was alive), Angar and Olivia (when he was backmailing her), Sarah and the models (when she was taking drugs and making a scene).Adrian, Kitty and Sebastian also frequent it rather often.
Larger parties also usually take place there (Baby Sophia's christening after party, the celebration of Sarah's modelling campaign, the goodbye party for Carla's wife).
The Schneiders basically is the No Limits for the older characters.
The No Limits, the Schneiders and the castle (though mostly for the family dinner or breakfast scenes, the kitchen where they interact with the staff and the hall where various people come to confront them) are the biggest general locations. The most important "home" locations are the Ollian flat, the Brandner family home (Lydia's family+Arno) and Carla's flat. Occasional places we see are Tanja's modelling agency (usually just so people like Ansgar and Lars can storm in to insult Tanja or to have Olivia and Kitty gossip) and the hospital where Leonard works and all sick characters are brought (recently the place where Adrian and Constantin had their blackmail and kidney transplant story, where Carla had her breakdown and heard her baby crying through the door, where Sarah went after taking bad cocaine and where both Sarah and Jana recovered after their accident).
Once in a blue moon (at the moment) sets are the main room in Gregor's flat, the Brandner Bau construction site, Carla's office and Sebastian's room at the castle. And of course various locations.
So really, as far as visible jobs, there really isn't anything he could do other than assisstant at Tanja's modelling firm (blegh), works as a servant at the castle (more blegh) or become a construction worker together with Fabian and Judith (yeah right). I guess he could work for Carla's bank, but really, that doesn't suit him either.
Personally, I don't get the need to give Olli a different job. Considering its his aunts place it's probably gonna be a pretty relaxed real. And they could always nominally give him a higher, more managing/organizing function there while having him essentially do the same thing.
Agreed
Working at Schneider's keeps Olli centrally-located in the show, much as the same is true of Gregor and Christian in No Limits. Christian is also a student, but other than his track test have we ever seen him at school?
Like Lola, I can't imagine what kind of job they could give Olli that would keep him onscreen at work. And it would be a shame for him to get a job that would just take him off camera.
Maybe he should develop a
Maybe he should develop a blackmailing habit like Olivia so he could actually benefit from all the stories that go on at Schneiders.
Or maybe Charlie could get sick for a while and Olli gets put in charge of kicking out all those unruly guests.
Personally, my first step would be for Christian to visit Olli at the Schneiders more often. Mostly because I'm really fond of that location.
It's a pity that Olli
It's a pity that Olli never got a degree as a therapist. The money that's waiting to be made just from the Lahnstein's alone...
It kind of reminds me of Gregor's snide remark about there being a lot of work for a lawyer working for them.
But I agree that Christian should visit Olli at work more often. God knows Olli is in No Limits all the time. Then again, I wonder if Christian would have to dress better to hang at the Schneider's bar.
Then again, I wonder if
Then again, I wonder if Christian would have to dress better to hang at the Schneider's bar. no votes
That would sort of be the point. Either to get him to dress better OR have him all be all cute and schuffling outside because he looks out of place. Either one would be fine with me ;p
Well in fairness
upper floor flat
Yeah, but I guess that's because Ollian's & Judith's shared flat like Gregor's flat are on the upper floor of No Limits. So Oli passes No Limits everytime he enters or leaves the house. So at least twice a day...^^
Interview?
Hey, guys
Any update on that interview Q&A with Jo and Thore?
And, VL is awesome, as usual.
New video
And there is cute moment
Gosh...Olli is so damn fine
Gosh...Olli is so damn fine when he get's angry.
Good for Olli that he threatened Olivia he WILL go to the police if she does not turn in the money. But Olivia is so dangerous when it comes to saving her own sorry ass, Olli better be prepared for the worst.
You know what's great...even though Ollian's storyline doesn't kick into high gear until next week, they are still quite prevlent in the other storylines.
netogeno...I already saw yesterday's episode from Nanna, and there is a very cute moment between Olli and Christian...LOL, indeed!!
Yes, he is!!
Didn't care for the acting in this one
Lola...maybe we will get
Lola...maybe we will get that reaction from Olli a little bit later, but right now, he is simply furious at the outragous behavior of Olivia. I mean, Olivia, his cousin is a criminal involved in a kidnapping scam, who had the nerve to ask Olli to break down a 500 Euro bank note, which quite frankly is blood money, so she can buy herself some more of those outragous looking clothes and jewelry that she wears.
There was no consideration of the danger she was passing on to Olli through that stolen money. And remember, it didn't take long before Charlie got a call from the police questioning where that stolen 500 euro note came from. Then Charlie was right up Olli's ass insisting he remember if, where, when and whom that money came from. Hell, i'd have fire coming out of my ears if a relative of mine did something like this to me. So Olli's reaction is something I would expect for now and is within context of the situation. The disappointment and sadness will come later.
The disappointment and
The disappointment and sadness will come later.
I rather doubt it.
And I wasn't saying that he wasn't justified, just that it made the scenes more boring. Particularly since he seemed to hold a straight angry face for three or so relatively long scenes. It came across more like he was a two bit villain of the "Olivia is a sad heroine" storyline, regardless of what actually happened because of how it played out. To me that actually took away from the potential intensity of the scene rather than adding to it.
Lola...the thing is, this
Lola...I felt Olli's reaction played out more naturally with his intense anger. Most people would react this way within the first day or two of finding out they were taken avantage of and dragged into a crime because of a family member's behavior. I don't think displaying sadness or disappointment at the person would come to mind within the first day, at least. More realistic would be you wanting to kick that person's ass for dragging you into the fray. Which is exactly Olli's response through how furious he is and threating to go to the police if Olivia doesn't come clean.
I felt the scene played out accordingly.
Seen sets..
Maxine, I know which scene you mean of Ollian in Monday's episode! I thought it was rather cute too and pretty funny. I am curious how people here will comment.
Regarding Olli and his job. He could like you say Lola (and it's something I had suggested on a different board too), get a higher position in his aunt's Schneiders. As to the not likely-hood of new sets – there does not have to be a new set. I mean, Christian is at university and we haven't seen it once! Also, I hope that after the whole boxing-ordeal, we'll see a story-line involving Ollian and Christian's fellow students.

I'm weary of giving Olli a
I'm weary of giving Olli a higher ranking job, mostly because Olli is already older and more experienced than Christian. If he also gets to have more money and a higher ranking job (after all, Schneiders and No Limits are bother the same (service) industry) it would shift the power balance even more and IMO would make the reationship a lot less appealing.
To me Christian being driven and Olli not being is a good way of balancing the scales.
Sure, Christian is a boxer, but it's not really high class job and I take it as pretty much a given that Christian will give it up sooner or later, out of injury, or because of the obstacles or for whatever other reason (just like Gregor eventually had to give up helicopter flying because the show can't support doing a storyline connected for that too long). And what will he be then? A student and a waiter. IMO, totally ruins the power equilibrium.
I'm not sure what the point of a student storyline would be, since they already have plenty of student age characters on the show (Judith (architecture), Constantin (journalism), Rebecca (design), Lydia (doesn't go to university, but is the same age)). Unless they would do yet another homophobia type story which strikes me as pointless. University has always been pretty invisible on VL (just thinking about Sarah and her music studies). Think the last time we ever saw a classroom was high school with Constantin and Paul and that was only shown because the woman Paul fell in love with turned out to be his French teacher.
Just jealous..
No no! I was thinking of a jealousy type story. You know, Olli being jealous of some of Christian's fellow student, but it all then turns out that Olli has no reason to be jealous, because Christian has eyes and heart for Olli only! Ach, so süss!
:o)
