Gay in the UK video blog (Ep. 2): That gay Boyzone video, homophobic musicians, and moustaches

The fellas from across the pond are back to update us on all the gay goings-on in Ole Blighty, including the new series Stephen Fry in America and the super-gay cast of I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!

Plus, there's of course the weekly Wino Award and an explanation of what's gotten onto the fellas' heads and upper lip.

Check it out after the break!

Thanks.......

Thank you for answering my question. Simon's going off on his guests is my favorite part but I guess that explains the uniteresting people on this series. When he gets guests on who get his humor though it is always a blast to watch. His episode with John Barrowman was really good and the one where he made the guest leave was brilliant. Cannot wait to see you all again next week. CHEERS.

Double ditto even. I smiled. I laughed. I smirked. I thought those boys sure are cute. Thanks for that.

I love British TV Shows

Thanks Tim and Ryan. You're both awesome!

I adore Stephen Fry. He is exceptional in almost everything he stars in. I loved his comedy shows with Hugh Laurie. And him in the movie Wilde. I also loved him hosting QI. I saw his latest QI special for children in need on YouTube (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3).

Also, I watch Never Mind The Buzzcocks on YouTube. Simon Amstell is so hilarious. I love him making fun of his guests. I saw the episode with Stephen Fry as a guest team captain on YouTube recently (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3).

I watch the Graham Norton Show on BBC Canada and BBCK. His show is fun too. Does anyone else watch Graham Norton?

I followed the London elections and know who Brian Paddick is (openly gay, former Lib Dem Mayoral candidate and former police officer). I was disappointed that Boris Johnson actually won.

And Peter Mandelson: since when is he openly gay? I thought that everyone knows he is gay but he has never openly discussed it (stating he wants his privacy). I remember they weren't allowed to mention he was gay on the quiz show Have I Got News For You. So when did he come out openly?

Great work on the vlog you guys. Looking forward to more! :)

First off, I DIDN'T VOTE

First off, I DIDN'T VOTE FOR BORIS!!!!! (I didn't vote for Paddick either, come to that)

Yes, the Mandelson thing is confusing. He doesn't talk to the gay media, or attend gay events, or do anything for the community really, but neither does he deny his sexuality. Pink news names him as an 'openly gay man' and there's no lawsuits going on there, so I think we're on safe ground.

'Have I Got News For You' handled it brilliantly when the BBC banned any mention of 'Mandy' as one host said that he was 'a hom......owner', and the other host replied: 'what's wrong with gays owning homes?'

I do love that show, although let us not forget that it was on HIGNFY that Boris Johnson became the figure of fun/popularity? that resulted in him being elected London Mayor (shaved Womble that he is).

I'm glad you didn't vote for Boris...

Although, I never thought you voted for Boris. I guess I can assume you voted for Ken Livingstone. (Yay! Go socialism!)

Thanks for clarifying the Mandy mystery.

I also like HIGNFY! Paul Merton is so hilarious. (remember the Tub of Lard? ROTFL) And I am disturbed if people voted for Boris because he looked so foolish and (possibly) amusing on a comedic quiz show! What has the world come to?

Also, there's so many british shows I like. I wish more of them were available to us (North Americans) on TV or DVD format.

Thanks again Tim,

Your Canadian Fan

great videoblog, thanks a

great videoblog, thanks a lot

I watch quite a lot of british tv (am german) and *fangirlmodebegins*  the more of Stephen Fry the better. He has a marvellous website for example. With podcasts (podgrams) , long blogentries (blesseys), little videos about his whereabouts (wouldn't recommend the last one though, he's quite snotty - literally *eww*) and lots of twitter. *fangirlmodeends*

The movember-thing seems to be quite known in the uk? You're the second one to grace my screen with a november-moustache. The other being Jake Hendriks (Father Kieron of Hollyoaks) who seemingly has chickened out of it by now (maybe due to doing panto or out of fear it might have caused air turbulence when he was thrown out of a plane for just another charity-event). His moustache was more on the hilarious side, though - yours suits you quite fine I have to say.

Looking forward to the next installment of your vlog :-)

Thanks for the Shout-out!!

First of all, I LOVE YOU GUYS!! It's like Graham Norton (very classy entertainment), only without the set or the audience of 200 people. I’ve been busy preparing to graduate from college, so it took me a while to get to your latest vid. After the shout-out you guys gave me in this vid, just know that from now on, I'll love every vid you make, EVER. You have a brand new BFF for LIFE!! Though you might have thought it was just a simple gesture to a few fans, IT MEANT THE WORLD TO ME, to hear you guys say my name!!

Tim. Ryan. You guys were both as adorable, loveable, and hilarious as you usually are! Like two cheeky monkeys, or a sack full of puppies, I just can't get enough!! Just so you know, the two of you should definitely do a rap session, it's sooo cute when the two of you disagree about something, and I'm loving the different ways to sport bandanas every week.

Tim, love how your face scrunches up when you don't like something, and Ryan, well, I think you can see from the other comments how much the public likes you too.

I can't wait for the next episode, and I'll be clawing at my laptop, computer, screen in anticipation! Til next time, CHEERS.

A question

I love Never Mind the Buzzcocks as well, but I tried watching the seasons before Simon Amstell took over and I think they sort of... suck. Can't stand the guy who was leading the show. I know you said the ratings were down, but sort of in general, is Amstell appreciated over there as host of the show?

I love Buzzcocks so

I love Buzzcocks so much

glad about the 'Better' boyzone video. found an article about it practically every comment is positive, some are middling so don't get why he should pretend but don't want to explain it to their kids (i so don't get this)
