Gay in the UK video blog (Ep. 3): Boy George, Madonna, and no it's not 1985 again

Among other items, hosts Tim & Ryan talk about recent developments in the criminal trial of Boy George (he allegedly chained a male prostitute to the wall of his London apartment), protests over Boyzone's new supposedly propaganda-filled video "Better.", the details of Madonna and Guy Ritchie's divorce settlement, and much more!

Check it out after the break!

A bit off?

Is it just me, or are the boys a bit off their game this week? Obvious reading from their prompter and stumbling over some words. Still... they're adorable. Fun to look at and listen to with those great British accents.

Britney on reality TV

Last week Britney Spears was on a French show, Star Academy, kind of the same thing as the X Factor (althout probably worst as it IS french ^^). I haven't watched it cause cause I don't care about either Britney or the show but I thought maybe some of you might be interested (anyone ? oh well...).

Guys, go to Chicago instead

Admittedly, I have a bias against New York (I can only tolerate it for 24 hours and then I need to escape), but Chicago has all the shopping, some of the culture and, now that Obama has been elected, is pretty much the center of the universe for the next 4 (or 8) years! Besides, two beautiful Brits in Chicago...you'll have a wonderful time!

and more?...

Thanks for your lovely invites, I'm visiting each and every one of you, as soon as I'm not under police surveillance anymore.

And yes, apologies for my poor reading skills, the screen was being naughty and I think I needed glasses that day!

If you'd like to check out something creative I do, then take a look at:

Don't Listen To Them! Brooklyn is THE SPOT

Next time you hit NYC you need to cross the bridge sugar and let the fabulous gays and lesbos of Park Slope show you a lovely time.

Beautiful  Prospect Park, CONEY ISLAND, Museums, The Botanical Gardens and the Brooklyn Academy of Music Theater

Only 20 minutes from all that is Manhattan

Brooklyn has the cutest boys, hands down (sorry Chicago).

I love your VLOG.  You're both witty and adorable.  Can't wait for next week.

Fightin' words!

I'm not going to argue with you, Darco -- I love Brooklyn (lived there for a summer many years ago and often regret not staying) -- but I think it's a close race between Brooklyn and Chicago's Boystown -- and Andersonville, and Rogers Park. And if you visit the center of the universe (according to Joseph), I'll point out a few thousand who could give The Beautiful Boys of Brooklyn a run for their money.

(I don't think it's an accident that Beautiful Brian Juergens, now of Brooklyn, is a product of the heartland ... just f'r instance ...)

Okay, gotta admit, the last 4 grrls I dated were from

Chicagoland area (Andersonville to be specific) so I've spent some very very memorable moments in the "Heart O Chicago" motel (she blushes) and spending money I didn't have on Belmont and Clark  (shoutout to Margie's Icecream Parlor and Deluxe Diner )

Sooooo, I'm willing to concede Boystown/Andersonville  (Chitown) as MAYBE the cute first cousins of Willyberg and Parks Slope (Land of Brook) when it comes to studly boys.

There should just be a shuttle already!

Holla!

Chicago Chicago!!!!

I love Chicago - it was the favourite city I've visited so far - I think cuz it was what I did not expect. The food is superb, the guys were well friendly and the bars were pretty good. Much more going on in boyztown than London!!!

;-) xx

I Like This

I love the idea of video blogs from across the pond. I have to admit that you can talk about anything and I'd be mesmerized by your charming British accents.

Who were the actors playing the British scientists?

I hope you continue doing these blogs. And give us your opinion of US culture, too.

Scientists

Yes, what a silly silly oversight to not talk about those two great British actors!

Eddington was played by David Tennnant, best known as Dr Who (although he has just announced his retirement from that). He is currently treading the boards as Hamlet.

Einstein was Andy Serkis, better known as Gollum from Lord of the Rings, or the big ape himself, King Kong - nice to see him in human form!

gabriel oak's picture

I know both those actors. I

I know both those actors. I hope they show this on BBC America.
purple_squirrel's picture

haha that was hilarious

haha that was hilarious with the photos below you, you actually look a lot like David Tennant Tim esp. our eyes and Ryan not so much that guy but with the moustache I see what you mean! Tennant was great in it, he's so famous now but i truly forget im watching him and believe the character, (did anyone see Recovery? he was brilliant, it was harrowing though, was in a daze for a while after)

I never knew his name was George O'Dowd, i know a George Dowd hehe

I like how you're not talking just about gay guys although it seems focused on that (which makes sense this is AfterElton after all), i wonder why AfterEllen doesnt have a vlog like this. or perhaps they could show yours

pretty good irish accent, you sounded a lot like Kris? from Hollyoaks
