Gene Simmons to Fox: Adam Lambert "should shut up about his sexual preferences"

If you talk about a wife or girfriend, you're just talking.  If you're a guy and you talk about your husband or boyfriend, you need to shut up and stop shoving it down people's throats.  They honestly don't get the double standard.

Can someone remind him that he had his own reality show about his 'indoor life' on the A&E channel, and that no one wanted to know about his either but they still did it?

i just bet he feels differently about two women being together. i just freaking bet it.

I also hope GLAAD doesn't demand some apology for this, because i know i won't accept it.

Gene is just mad because as Rolling Stone said, Adam upstaged KISS during the finale.  He is trying to be provacative to get some of Adam's media coverage.  Adam is AMAZING!  He was honest in the article and put everything out there in the hopes of making things about the music.  People are just so interested in him that he is going to be hounded by questions next about drug use and Gene's comments.  Regardless, I will be first in line to buy/download Adam's CD and see him in concert (when he goes on tour solo... I cannot handle some of those Idol contestants... they sounded like tortured howler monkeys).  We LOVE you Adam!  Gene can go lick a farm animal and keep his hetero crap to himself... We America find it to be DISGUSTING!

I absolutely choked when I listened to this.  A man who has made being a spectacle into a career, digging at the new generation for simply being honest.  And the farm animals? Please, that's just sad.

I think I just quit drinking Dr. Pepper because of this jackass.

I can't even bring myself to care that much, as defensive of Adam as I usually am. The guy invites Adam to tour with them, then says he doesn't have a rock voice, then says he should've won AI, and then says he needs to shut up about his sexuality.

I don't think he wants to make a statement anymore. I think he just wants attention.

But speaking of rock voices, he also doesn't think Freddie Mercury has a "rock voice" either. *rolls eyes*

Juxtaposing gay sex and bestiality... diaf.

Gene Simmons is way too full of himself. The whole interview was him making sure everyone knew exactly how hard he was working, even pointing out that he was up at 5:00am to do that interview. I've never seen a person get in so much shameless self-promotion into one interview in such a short amount of time!

And apparently he can speak for ALL of America in saying that no one cares about Adam's sexual preference. If that were the case, then Adam wouldn't have had to come out at all. All throughout American Idol Adam got constantly questioned about his sexual orientation, but I'm sure Gene Simmons counts as the voice of all America. 

I for one think that Adam has much more than a rock voice. He's a very talented vocalist. He could succeed if he wanted to do funk, pop, rock, or broadway. I think Gene Simmons is just a bit jealous that Adam knows how to make headlines. 

Lambert was the center of a media storm when he wasn't talking about his sexuality. He isn't even making a big deal about it now, the media is.

Simians thinly veiled jealousy is not gonna win him any new fans.

 

People that actually whistle while they work deserve what they get.

Drake is not a farm animal. Everytime somebody makes the gay/bestiality analogy, I want to punch them in the face. Which in Simmons' case could only be an improvement.

And really, who doesn't want a lecture on discretion about one's private life from GENE SIMMONS? 'Cause he's so enigmatic and mysterious about his own. Remind me again-what's his show about?

first this coming from Gene, the guy who talks about sleeping with thousands of women, and then say no one cares about Lambert being open and honest about his life? At least he didn't go in to detail talking about every guy he's been with. He was just opening up and letting people getting to know him better,

 Second thing, it was the MEDIA that wouldn't shut up about Adam and kept asking and asking, Lambert never made a big deal about it, it was the media. So yeah, they were interested. We were all interested in hearing what Adam had to say in his own words.

 Gah, I really hate all these old people coming out saying shit about Adam. Like Rob Zombie did a few days ago I think, he said that Adam wasn't Mick Jagger. And that comment came out of nowhere, b/c Adam has never ever said he wanted to be like one of those rockers. Other people keep comparing him to them, but Adam has never done it himself. All Adam wants to be is Adam. I really hate when people talk about other people like this in the media just to get attention. It is desperate and ugly.

Everyone loves Adam so much, and that is why we want to know more about him.

 A little off topic, have you guys read Adam's brother Neil's blog? It super funny and he is really good with words. Anyway, he wrote a little about Adam and that he was interviewed for 20/20 this Friday when Adam's gonna be on

And about the RS cover, this is a very good and interesting article to read. It says that Adam didn't get the cover simply because of the gay thing, but because RS really loved him. They didn't know what he was gonna be talking about, Adam himself made it clear the he wanted to tell the truth about everything.

Nothing says your  career is over ...when you have to steal the lime light of a reality contestant. You would think for someone who's been around a few block in front of the media during his career, he would know better than to make a comment like that. There are smart musicians and then there's Gene Simmons. Must be pretty difficult for some one like him to bite his tongue.

I recently read Rob Zombie's rant on Adam Lambert, about how taking a shortcut in the form of "American Idol" to get noticed in the music industry is cheating.  He then went on to plug "Halloween 2," his, what, fourth major motion picture?  How many people who dream of making movies go out to Hollywood only to go unnoticed while Rob Zombie uses his music industry fame to jump into motion picture making?  Seems to me he grasped the opportunity given to him just like Adam did with "American Idol."

 Too bad he and Gene Simmons don't see how spouting off at the mouth like this makes them sound like hipocrits.  Everyone else has already pointed out Gene's pimping of his family on a reality show as well as his ego-driven talk about how many women he's been with.  I just thought I'd point out that Rob Zombie tid-bit that rubbed me the wrong way.

In my humble opinion...Gene Simmons has got to be one the ugliest men i've ever seen. Even before his hipocritical and jealous comments about Adam, I've always viewed him as one ugly brute. And I don't care how many women he claims to have slept with...I surely hope he was wearing protection at the time or he maybe a walking petri dish right now...he's still got one ugly mug.

I agree with others...he is jealous and desperate for attention. Lets be honest...Simmons is well passed his prime, whereas Adam is just getting started.

And i agree with what all H said.the main point is Adam Lambert from starting until ended AI not saying any word about his sexuality only the media and some people not like him are make the thing worst.But now he make his sexuality clear to all people but also can make people (who jealous him)say something hurt.

lol. What an attention whore! Just like what Adam said in his EW Idolatry interview "Gene Simmons is just trying to be Gene Simmons", he is provocative, he is trying to gain attention. I do not even know who the heck he is until KISS appreared on stage with Adam. Farm animal? Huh? so why do I have to hear something from a farm animal like Gene Simmons? I thought we are all animals, no? Don't tell me Gene Simmons is an alien. Honestly, if Gene Simmons doesn't think sexual orientation is that much of a big deal, he shouldn't even bring it up, as he brought it up, it's confirmed that he is the one that trying to make a big deal out of it. Well, he just wants attention, poor Simmons. Unfortunately, I have to say that he earned the attention, at least from me, otherwise I'd never knew who Gene Simons? Simmons? is in a gazillion years.

Adam is not the one who keeps talking about his sexuality, it is America, which Simmons represents as he claimed, keeps on asking. Adam already said he does not even think twice about coming out because he is always out and does not think it would be such a big deal. As a hetero, this Gene Simmons disgusts me, and he wants to represent America? represent heteros like me? Ugh... I guess I'd rather listen to a farm animal fart.

Anyway, I love Adam, I think he's truly inspiring for everyone of us, I love him as who he is, so props for him not holding back at all in the RS interview! He makes me loving him more and more! Can't wait til his album out!
