Guillermo Diaz guest stars on tonite's Cane

I've always been a big fan of Guillermo Diaz, a gay actor who has managed to play just about every kind of character you can imagine, gay or straight, over the last few decades. He's probably best known as playing Scarface in the cult fave pot comedy Half Baked (where he co-starred with Dave Chappelle, upon whose show Diaz also appeared several times), but gay auds will no doubt remember his star turn as a feisty drag queen in the period drama Stonewall or as Parker Posey's lovable DJ roommate in Party Girl ("Imitate a cat puking...").

While Diaz's early career was something of a must-see indie film rap-sheet (from Gregg Araki's Nowhere to Freeway to Girls Town to Fresh to Just One Time to 200 Cigarettes), in recent years he has appeared in Steven Spielberg's big-budget The Terminal and a slew of television dramas. Most recently he popped up in several episodes of Weeds and tonight shows up on CBS's new drama Cane.

If you haven't checked out the new rum-and-sugar soap yet (er ... I know I haven't) and are looking for something to give you that nudge, Guillermo's guest spot tonight is it.

We interviewed the actor a few years back, if you'd like to read more.
