Homophonic video blog (Ep. 7): Novice Theory

Alex joins transgender musician Geo Wyeth, aka Novice Theory, a one-man band that mixes piano, klezmer, accordian, and a melange of musical styles to create a thoroughly unique and utterly captivating experience. Geo talks about his music, about how being trans and biracial has informed his musical journey, and how he comes up with his one-of-a-kind compositions.

But the real treat is seeing Novice Theory in action in several clips from his recent performance at NYC's Zipper Theatre and an intimate performance in the studio. Definitely a must-watch.

Check it out after the break!

Interesting, edgy and simply lovin' Novice Theory

This is such an interesting interview, which provides honest and genuine insight into the life of a transgender musician. I found Geo incredibly inspiring and amazingly positive. His music has an edgy, yet strangely soothing sound, which I really like.

I cannot imagine the day to day b.s that Geo has to deal with in the music world's closet community. This man is a great musician, and should be praised for this alone.

I wish Geo the very best of luck with his career. Well done Homophonic on giving us yet another wonderful interview with a truly talented musician.
