Two-Bite Interview: Jack Mackenroth of Project Runway

You may have noticed that we're all over Project Runway fan-fave Jack Mackenroth. After interviewing his sister (who shares his good nature) and meeting both him and current flame Dale Levitski (who shares his Bravo reality competition war record), we still hadn't had enough. So we chased the designer down to ask him a few questions about the romance that's setting gay reality show fans' tongues wagging.

AfterElton.com: Who asked the other one out?
Jack Mackenroth: Actually I always thought Dale was foxy as hell so in my "Who you want to meet" section of my myspace page I put "Dale Levitski from Top Chef" just as a hoot. One of his friends saw it on my profile and told him about it. He messaged me on myspace and then we started chatting. After a few hilarious phone calls I knew we had to meet. He was coming to New York for the Out 100 party and I was instantly smitten. No one officially asked anyone out but I pursued him.

AEl: Does Dale wear boxers or briefs? 
JM: Dale has a Funderoo fetish. (His words) He mainly wears briefs with patterns and designs on them like Ginch Gonch. It's sickeningly cute.

AE: What fashion advice would you give him? 
JM: As far as fashion advice Dale doesn't need much. He thinks he is fashionably challenged but I always think he looks sharp. I love his fauxhawk. Furthermore, I'm a jeans and t-shirt guy as you can see on the show and so is he. So it'd difficult to be too much of a fashion 'don't' when you stick to your uniform.

AE: Who is more of a romantic? 
JM: It remains to be seen who is more romantic. I'm very romantic—especially in the early stages of the relationship. We need to spend more time together and romance the hell out of each other. And I may be using the word 'romance' as a euphemism.

AE: Has he cooked for you yet? 
JM: Dale doesn't like to cook much at home for the same reasons I'm not a big fashionista. I think we both like to leave our careers at the office. However if anyone is cooking in the relationship it's Dale. I can't boil water.
