Isaiah happy for T.R.'s Emmy nod; order restored to universe

Isn't it funny how inexplicably being cast in a huge show by a rival network instantly sweetens one's grapes?

In this Access Hollywood video interview with Isaiah Washington (which airs tomorrow), he praises T.R. Knight and says that speculating about Machiavellian maneuverings would be "theoretical" (maybe "totally empty trash-talk" would be more accurate, but as it was he who was slinging these accusations, I guess his view is soft).

Quotes:

"Do you think he benefited from this dust up?" Billy asked Isaiah over Knight's nomination.

"T.R. Knight is a good actor. He has been a wonderful actor from day one," Isaiah said. "T.R. Knight, congratulations. He finally got the attention he deserved."

"Whether or not it serves any particular agenda that he's nominated now, to make a point, I can't speak on that. That's theoretical. I don't know, but good for him," the former Dr. Preston Burke noted.

Hopefully this closes the circle on this mess, restoring harmony to the known universe and a fresh lemony scent to the Los Angeles smog.

this is the end, i hope...like the real end....

i really want this whole IW/TR thing over and done with on every blog. no more. i can't take it. he called TR a name. TR was hurt. everyone went nuts, got angry, etc etc....he did wrong, spoke wayyy too much, but hey....i truly think he/everyone else is trying their d--ndest to move on.

lesson has been learned and i think IW will one day realize what an @ss he made of himself.

with that said..........i dearly hope this will be the last freaking piece we see on the whole IW/TR deal. not just on this blog, but on every blog.....and i am not insulting afterelton....i just want everyone to try and move on and be happy. (unless it's these pills that are doing all the talking...)

    yawn

So, FINALLY Isaiah shows a tiny bit of class. Too bad it hardly makes a dent in his pile-up of lies, homophobic remarks, physical violence towards castmates and attempted character assassination of T.R. Knight Patrick Dempsey the media ABC terrified white people just about everyone he's ever met. But whatever. He's not going to change so I'm not going to bother criticizing him any longer (or at least for a while). NBC and the producers of BIONIC WOMAN, however, are another story.

Didn't MSNBC fire Don Imus for using racial slurs? Good for them!

Didn't NBC actively pursue Isaiah Washington and ultimately cast him in their hot new drama as well as currently developing his own series for their network? WTF?!

Great message that sends! Even worse: their LAME response to the question of "whether Washington's hiring shows any disrespect to the gay community:

"Absolutely not," he [Exec producer Jason Smilovic] counters. "We embrace the gay community and we're in no way making any judgments or statements about what was said or done [on Grey's]."

Ahhh, can you feel the warmth of said embrace? Seriously, this was my #2 show of the upcoming fall season (#1 being PUSHING DAISIES) and I'm considering devoting that hour to GOSSIP GIRL or PRIVATE PRACTICE (which airs on the network that does make judgments about anti-gay slurs and physical violence against coworkers).

Unrelated, but this cracked me up so I wanted to share:

When a reporter asked Shemar "Not Gay" Moore about his nude pictures he said he had no problem with the pictures. He did have a problem with the report that said he was frolicking on a gay beach. He then went on and on about how he's NOT gay. Though, perhaps in an attempt to embrace the gay community, he did throw us this bone:

"But I have no problems with people who are gay. My God father was gay; he died of AIDS."

WHAT?! You just know that's on his tombstone!

Awww, straight people are so cute when they are ignorant.

    read between the lines

Anyone who actually saw the interview on Access Hollywood would tell you that Mr. Washington was being sarcastic when he said "he finally got the attention he deserved."

    Maybe something IS fishy...

I totally agree Washington was being somewhat sarcastic in that interview, but just wondering: DID he direct the f-bomb at T.R. or was it a random schoolyard taunt directed at Patrick Dempsey, and a somewhat paranoid Knight overheard the word and mistakenly thought it was referring to him?  That way, I.W. was telling the truth at the Globes when he said he never called T.R. a fag.  I could also see then why Washington would be angry over the publicity Knight has received from all this.
