T.R Knight and Katherine Heigl are leaving "Grey's Anatomy", says James Pickens, Jr.

The New York Post (INSERT 5,493 GRAINS OF SALT HERE) is reporting that Grey's Anatomy star James Pickens, Jr. confirmed to US Weekly backstage at the NAACP Awards luncheon over the weekend that George and Izzie are indeed scrubbing out of the series after months of speculation that they were unhappy with their roles.

As for Knight, Pickens says that the actor simply wants to pursue other roles (possibly even ones that give him more than 10 seconds of screen time a week?). And as for Heigl, he says he wishes her the best in anything she decides to do.

We checked in with a publicist for ABC, who told us, "The studio and the network aren't confirming anything." Soooooooo yeahprettymuch.

Here's our question in the wake of the news-that-isn't-confirmed: Is this a good thing or a bad thing for T.R.? Let us know what you think in our poll!

Had this happened LAST

Had this happened LAST season, I would have been devastated.  Now... not so much.

George has been a vapor this season (if the behind the scenes gossip is true, I can understand why...) and Izzie's GhostDenny story was a snooze.

The show is finally showing some legs again, with the addition of Dr. Hunt, Arizona Robbins and Dr. Dennis.  George and Izzie won't be missed by me, at least not so much.

Good Riddance to both

It's about time. Katherine has been involved in what will be remembered as one of the dumbest plotlines in TV history, she is probably ready to run away from that set as soon as she can. But she has been a little too big for her britches for about the past 2 years, slamming the writers, etc. True last year she was the 5th highest paid actress in Hollywood, but she better enjoy it while she can. She may have a few more cute romantic comedies up her sleeve, however I think she'll be back on TV in 5 years. T.R. must also be thrilled, as his character George is a fraction of what it use to be. I won't miss his whining about being on Greys. Now he has more time to be a good father to his adopted son.

if this is true...

If it's true, then good for them. i hear the show just plain stinks now.

Katherine seems to be on her way to becoming the next 'julia roberts' so to speak, i guess her career will be alright.

Hope T.R. finds something. i know a few people who think he will have a hard time finding anything better than this.

Was T.R. even in last week's episode at all?

I remember him hanging around in the background.  He hasn't had much to do this season so I can't blame him for wanting to leave.

Good luck to him in whatever he decides to do.

Grey's Anatomy

has turned into Must-Flee TV for me. The constant depiction of supposed medical professionals behaving like oversexed teenagers while on duty is incredibly disturbing and depressing. The unprofessionalism of having intimate personal conversations in front of patients and visitors is beyond laughable. If I were stuck in a bed at their hospital and about to be treated by one of these "doctors," I'd be on the phone begging friends and relatives to take me home so I could die in peace.

Not to mention the fact that

Not to mention the fact that if you go into that hospital with a stubbed toe, they'll end up discovering a brain tumour (why else would you bump into something?) and you'll die on McDreamy's operating table leaving your pregnant wife/longterm boyfriend devastated.

TR Knight

He's barely on the show anymore--it's like what Betty Garrett used to call the "Hi-Bye Girls" on sitcoms, they'd walk on say something funny and leave and you wouldn't see them again. T.R. is an excellent actor and can continue doing theater work and maybe occasional guest shots. I think Grey's is suffering from a similar problem as shows like "Ally McBeal" or most David E. Kelley shows before them--they keep adding new characters and stop developing the ones they already have. Heigl has a film career, and George's appearances feel a little humiliating. I say he's better off even if he doesn't work on TV again.

Just don't go all ER on them

Hopefully Grey's Anatomy woun't do to Izzie and George what happened to so many doctors on ER and kill them off.

Though that may have been a good thing back in the Grizzie days.

Least they are still keeping the possibility of Callie open to a relationship with the new Peds surgeon. It was a nice surprise last week.

TR deserves better than Grey's Anatomy.

TR deserves way better than what he has been getting from "Grey's Anatomy". He is a talented and underrated actor. I used to watch the show religiously, but two years ago I fell away. The show had completely lost the plot. And I feel that his character got a bum deal. Granted, George O'Malley made a lot of bad choices, but EVERYONE ELSE MADE BAD CHOICES ON THAT GODDAMN SHOW! I hope that, for his final appearance on "Grey's Anatomy", George will finally snap and beat the shit out of everyone on the show. Then we'll see who's "Bambi".

As for that bitch Katharine Heigl, what-fucking-ever.
