Jamie Bamber's GLAAD PSA to debut on Sci Fi this weekend
Here's a sure-fire holiday hangover cure for you science fiction fans: GLAAD has announced that the latest PSA in their "Be an Ally & a Friend" campaign featuring towel-ready Battlestar Galactica hunk Jamie Bamber will premiere on the net immediately following the highly-anticipated Battlestar Galactica: Razor miniseries this Saturday. This is great news on a number of levels. One, the miniseries is one of the hottest tickets of the TV season and the placement of a 20-second message of understanding from Bamber (along with Ugly Betty's Eric Mabius, Brothers & Sisters' Jason Lewis, and Carpoolers' Jerry O'Connell) is prime. And two, given how many gay fans Bamber has made (he ranked an impressive #25 in the AfterElton Hot 100), it's great to see him speaking out in this campaign. For previous PSAs from the campaign, head on over here. Submitted by on Tue, 2007-11-20 08:51. |

The PSA is appropriate b/c
The PSA is appropriate b/c BSG brings us a same-sex relationship in Razor.
*** SPOILER (ok, more like teaser) AHEAD ***
I saw the sneak preview of Razor last week.
Razor basically is about the Battlestar Pegasus before it was reunited w/ Galactica. Someone on board the ship has a same-sex relationship, which will appeal more to those on After Ellen than here.
The screen time for said relationship is brief. The good part is that none of the other characters seem fazed by it. The bad part is that it could be open to interpretation as to whether the same-sex relationship, or at least the characters involved in it, are portrayed positively.
P.S. Bamber makes appearances throughout the movie. However, he doesn't show any skin. :(
Nice to get a Lee peak until
