Letterman stoops to Leno's level, calls transgender man "androgynous freak show"Really? Who on Earth decided that that last joke was even remotely appropriate? Much less funny? I mean, come on ... Michael Jackson jokes in 2008? Forget offensive, that's just plain lazy. The first nine jokes in the Top Ten List about pregnant transgender man Thomas Beatie showed that yes, you can make jokes about an undeniably odd situation without being offensive. And being a longtime fan of Letterman, I'm really shocked to see him resort to such a nasty low. Submitted by on Thu, 2008-04-03 09:16. |

Just the other night...
...I needed to leave a bar, 'cuz a girl was being sooo' transphobic! It made me literally angry, mad, and sick to my stomach, and hurt. Especially, when I just told her and explained nicely that some men are more like women, even if they don't want to change their outside; nevertheless, they are girl'z, too!

I have only one question: who put what where and why? Maybe it's none of my business, but if this couple conceived for the sole purpose of getting on Oprah, that is freaky. And what about the child? Would you want your child to be born into a media circus such as this one? Will Oprah and Barack be godparents? I honestly don't know enough at this point to form a judgment, but I am...dubious (beige).
He didn't do it just to get on Oprah...
He just wanted to have a child. If I understand correctly, they tried using donor sperm with his wife, but she was unable to conceive. Since he still has a uterus and ovaries inside, I suppose they decided to use them, so that the child would be genetically related to at least one of the parents. I guess adoption can be difficult, so I understand this decision, even though I personally would not ever do this if I were partnered with a transman.
He's not the first to do this. Other FTM men have been pregnant and had babies. I remember reading about them in a magazine a few years ago. His mistake was in not finding a friendly physician before inseminating.

To Croonquist, the in-law jokes seemed like a natural routine after living through one comical culture-clash moment after another: She is half-black, half-Swedish, grew up Roman Catholic and married into a Jewish family.Sunda Croonquist can claim that she is one of the first people that were sued for making mother in law jokes. (As if they aren't funny.) Very few comics get sued for pursuing their trade – although George Carlin was and the suit went to the Supreme Court – but Sunda Croonquist is being sued for making jokes, as it is her trade, at the expense of her in laws, and they, led by mother in law Ruth Zafrin, are suing her. She is being represented by her husbands' law firm, and has pledged to remove the material but won't pay monetary damages. Perhaps whoever's idea it was to sue Sunda Croonquist may want to get easy loans instead.
