Liveblogging As the World Turns: Luke, Maddie, and the lash edition

So last Friday we had a pretty big day in Oakdale, what with Maddie confronting Noah and Noah confronting Luke and Captain Pervy confronting Noah and Captain Pervy confronting Luke and Captain Pervy confronting Lily and Captain Pervy confronting the furniture and Captain Pervy pretty much going Alpha Perv on everything in the room.
So today we're back to pick things up with the Hot Teen drama, where we will apparently see Maddie lash out at Luke for not having her back in the whole Noah situation. It's like a high school theatre production of Making Love!
But before we get to that, we have some super-exciting news for all you Nukies out there...
Today we are launching an exclusive Ask Nuke! interactive feature that will allow a handful of lucky readers to ask a questions to our favorite ATWT actors Van Hansis and Jake Silbermann themselves. Head on over to the official forum thread for the rules and to ask your Q's! (Note: please don't leave them here or anywhere else, as we might miss -- only Q's in the official forum thread will qualify!)
Once you've stopped fanning yourselves back into a composed state, click on through the jump and refresh often for the latest. If you join late, just head on down to the bottom and read up.
And here we go...
2:54PM EDT: In another aggressive handheld shot (are those bothering anyone?), Maddie and Luke discuss how hard Noah's time must be, having a father who hates what he is, and Maddie wonders whether he would have had a better time were his mother still alive. They do all this over what looks like it might be a half-eaten burrito.
Noah defends his father to Lily, saying "he's a good man!" (IRONIC EDITING SENSORS TINGLING)
Cut to Dusty's room, where a dark figure wearing black Isotoner gloves creeps through the room and picks up some papers. We see this only from the neck down, like an old Murder, She Wrote episode with a mystery killer. But sure enough, it's revealed to be Pervy, and he drags Dusty away, presumably to his spare-tire-cramped fate.
Oh, and QAL doesn't die in the tub, and she tells Austin From Days she wasn't trying to kill herself. She just missed the sensation of being submerged in hot liquid, I guess.
Preview Time! Just a repeat of the preview from Friday, where Noah wonders out loud to Luke how he can tell the Cap'n he's gay without him going over the edge, as we watch Pervy loading Dusty in the trunk.
We'll be back tomorrow to pick up where we left off!
2:49PM EDT: RosAnne HecheKowski and Barbasol Man are still fighting in the same blah drawing room. This is turning into Private Lives or something.
Back to Luke and Maddie: Luke asks exactly how he got what he wanted in all this, and Maddie finally softens. She apologizes for saying what she did and Luke says he never meant to hurt her. I smell a mekeup shopping montage! They both agree that whatever they're going through right now, Noah's going through worse. Bummer. Cancel the montage.
Meanwhile, Dusty is alone in his room and after taking a drink he falls to the floor. Let's be honest: who among us hasn't been there?
Oh dear. Please tell me this isn't a bathtub suicide attempt sequence. Yes, QAL sinks beneath the meager suds (what is that, dishwashing soap?!) as someone knocks persistently at the door and Contemporary Country music plays.
Never a good sign.
2:40PM EDT: Matthew Perry 2.0 throws QAL out of the house so hard she almost bounces across the street.
Noah tells Lily that he agreed with his father that Luke should stay away from him. Lily apologizes for trying to force Noah into anything and Noah says he doesn't have a mother and he can't lose his father, too. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this one of the first "absent mother" gay stories out there? Freud is rolling in his grave. It's cool that Lily is going to bat for Luke and all ... but remember, this is the same woman who dressed up as a hausfrau hooker just weeks ago. I don't know if I necessarily trust her instincts.
Captain Pervy calls Dusty a murderer and points out that he's a witness and shouldn't be talking to him. Dustin counters by asking Pervs about Charlene Wilson and his son -- huh? Pervs says he didn't kill anyone and warns Dusty to keep what he knows to himself, and as he leaves, Dusty looks after him and says "I think I've found my guy." HoYay!
2:29PM EDT: Dusty tells Lily he has to protect her and won't talk more about things, but she's gonna do something.
Luke goes to see Maddie and she's totally pissed at him. Luke says if anything serious had happened between him and Noah he would have told her but that Noah had to find his own way, and Maddie tells him she was thrown aside. Luke points out, "I didn't make him gay, I'm not a recruiting officer", and Maddie points out that in the end Luke got exactly what he wanted. Er... highlights?
Lily goes to see Noah at the studio and asks him to have Luke call her. Noah notes he probably won't see Luke again and Lily tells Noah she talked to his father. He apologizes, and she tells him he didn't do anything to apologize for. She tells him Cap'n told her to keep Luke away from Noah and she offers to help. Noah says that he loves his father but that nothing changes him.
Meanwhile, Dusty pops out of a ficus and confronts Captain Pervy. Oooh! Ever been in the trunk of a Taurus, Dusty?
2:17PM EDT: QAL is told by Dr. Dayplayer that she has only a few months to live, maybe less. Hope she kept a receipt for the wedding gift. She tells Dr. D he's wrong, which makes perfect sense given her medical degree and solid grasp on reality.
Noah tells Luke he's just finished editing Invisible Girl and that he wishes he's never met either Luke OR Maddie. Noah tells Luke that he's got some "cause or something" and that he took away Noah's right to live his life in his own way. Luke tells him that his relationship with his father is a war that will never end. Noah says the truth will kill the Cap'n, and Luke says not telling the truth will kill Noah. Luke says, "for whatever reason, I still care about you" and leaves.
Back at Ruth's Chris, Captain Pervy is trying to talk Lily into his theory that Luke is the antiChrist. It dawns on her that Cap'n is completely deluded and is not accepting that his son is gay. She admits that she hasn't handled everything perfectly with Luke but that they have to let the boys live their own lives. She's floored that Cap'n is in a place that she was once in and it's hard for her to shake it off.
Meanwhile, Dusty has overheard the whole thing, and asks Lily if Cap'n has a son named Noah...
2:05PM EDT: The Quaker Oats Lady gets some bad news about her brain tumor, Roseanna gets all Anne Heche as played by Jane Krakowski on the handsome older guy with the great hair, and then we get to the good stuff.
Captain Pervy confronts Lily at the Ruth's Chris steakhouse and says "I know what your son is and what he's trying to do with my son!" Meanwhile, Luke confronts Noah, apparently beside an open tanning booth, since they're both completely bathed in orange light. Luke tells Noah that the Cap'n obviously knows about him and that Noah will never be happy until he comes out.
Noah replies: "Go to hell".
BRING IT!
