"Milk", "I Love You, Man" up for Best Kiss MTV Awards

No, these aren't the nominees for the NewNowNext Awards on Logo or Bravo's A-List Awards: MTV has opened voting for its 2009 MTV Movie Awards and once again some same-sex smooches have found their way into the Best Kiss category.

Sean Penn's NYC subway kiss with James Franco that kicks off Milk is the list's earnest gay entry, while the more blithe but somehow still kind of hot smooch between Paul Rudd and Thomas Lennon in I Love You, Man brings a bit of gay levity to the proceedings.

Here's the second clip...

This isn't the first time that gay kisses have been nominated or even won in the category (Will Ferrell and Sacha Baron Cohen won in 2007 for Talladega Nights, Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal won in 2006 for Brokeback Mountain and Seann William Scott and Jason Biggs won in 2002 for American Pie 2), but considering that this is a young-skewing contest that is loaded with nominees from High School Musical 3 and Twilight, it's nothing to sniff at.

To vote for your fave, head on over here, and be sure to know which kiss got your vote in the comments!

Nice picks!

Something tells me the Twilight-crazies are going to make sure Bella and Edward win.  They will probably nominate Robert Pattinson's gay kiss from Little Ashes at the next awards.

I think they missed out on Silhouette and the Nurse, myself

Here's hoping Milk wins.

MTV

Im sure that this years MTV will be the night of Twilights again. That new 9 movie may not live up
to its hype – but then again, it's been demonstrated time and again that
critics don't know what they're talking about.
The 9 movie reviews haven't been stellar.  However, it has a heavyweight cast – Elijah Wood, Christopher
Plummer, Jennifer Connelly, John C. Reilly, and an upstart director called Tim
Burton.  (He makes heavy waves.)  It's a post apocalyptic CGI film in which
machines have obliterated mankind, and small robots get into adventures, not to
be confused with District 9, about aliens trapped on earth in South Africa –
who aren't to be confused with the Springboks.
Still, the 9 movie is a Tim Burton film, which usually means a big
studio pay
day
