You know, I'd have an easier time appreciating the obvious effort and considerable wit that went into this parody trailer combining Milk with Valkyrie if it weren't ... you know, effectively equating Harvey Milk with Hitler.
Thoughts?

He sucks
Cruise made Valkyrie as a vanity revenge project against Germany. Is there any wonder that a story that shouldn't have failed at the box office? I hate to see it, or him, get credit even in jest.
Scientology vs Germany
The church of Scientology ran several full page ads in the Washington Post equating the current German government with the Nazis over the German government's view that Scientology is a cult a few years ago. Hmmm, equating the Holocaust with being lablelled a cult, not too offensive. I felt like Valyrie was some kind of settlement they'd reached. As for the clip, mostly just dumb and tone deaf.
Nous Sommes Tous Sauvages.
Germany vs Scientology
That was this Grand Dame's ploy, and why the film fails. It wasn't made as entertainment, it was made as a loosely veiled revenge.
I say, if it doesn't _start_ as a religion...
Didn't Scientology begin its efforts to be a full-fledged religion _after_ the US government confiscated its equipment? Um yeah, I say that's enough to disqualify church status.
That said, There's 2 problems I have with this mash-up. First, putting the "40 years old and done nothing with my life" quote in Hitler's mouth. What is it with this paralleling of Nazis and gays, whether it's the Producers musical or right-wing blather? The Nazis cracked down on gays because they recognized widespread acceptance would eventually deplete their "master race's" numbers- Himmler even said as much.
Problem 2: Why the combination of Operations Valkyrie and Twinkie at all? All I can think of is that a successful, pre-Pearl Harbor assassination of Hitler would have limited if not prevented the mass gay migration to San Francisco following WWII. Things you'd know with some knowledge of gay history, not some half-baked mash-up
