And he's cute too!

This was yet another intelligent, insightful, and funny look at what going home for Christmas is!  Love it!

Yep - he is!

And so totally right on about Christmas and being gay. I was out for many years but to me Christmas was for the kids in the family! They didn't care about politics but solely greed. And I was always Uncle Ronny - the one who knew how to put the toys together when their straight parents and grandparents hadn't a clue. How anti-stereotype is that?

"There's nothing... in this cup"

HAAHHAHahahaha.... oh Daniel, you just made my Xmas Eve's Eve. And I'd have to agree with the ole "don't come out on Xmas day" rule of thumb; why risk spoiling the best time of year?

Ugh... Christmas carols!!!

The most vile music genre ever invented!  Maybe its just me being a disenfranchised former retail worker, but the thought of having to listen to 3,000,000 versions of the same 2 songs for a full 8 hour day... you do the math.  Oh, and another option could be to not go anywhere for Christmas, or have your own party!  I love a good X-mas party that likes to revisit some of the traditions from Old England.

Ha! I knew Daniel was at last part Jewish!

He has that hot Dave Lieberman thing (the food network guy) going on.  :)  BTW, Streisand's 2nd Christmas CD is much stronger than her first, but the original has the breathtaking version of "Silent Night."

And I love Christmas music, though I like to mix it up now and then with offbeat stuff, like the soundtrack to "Mysterious Skin" or "Rent."  (Hey, they're both set at Christmas.)  Just got a Brian Setzer Christmas compilation today, so the holiday is going to swing and rock a little harder than usual.

Where's this video Christmas card link Daniel mentions?  Does he dress up in a Santa suit, like Eli in the new issue of "Instinct"?  :)  Visions of sugarplums (!) dance in the head.

Yet he associates Christmas with Ham!

I bet you were put in charge of making bacon sandwichs Aunt Sophie on the sly when you were a kid, Daniel.

And where's that smokin' hot ex-boyfriend of yours going for Christmas?

You telegraphed that perfectly...

I knew the cup was empty about a second before you said it. You are missing out on a career as a comic actor. As the old saying goes.  Sincerity is everything, when you can fake that, you can fake anything.

Nous Sommes Tous Sauvages.

Whoah, So new to AfterElton

So, I finally muster enough motivation to create an account on AE, basically to comment on Daniel's video blogs, and I'm surprised at what I see. Hord of users hitting on him! (And comparing him to tv celebrities on the Foodnetwork!?) Anyways, oh, Merry Christmas - but besides that - I wanted to say that this post certainly should be spread around the net. It's hilarious and true and if anything, it can help stop those select few who Do decide to come out of the closet on Christmas. Hah!

now, I didnt come out on

now, I didnt come out on christmas, but I came out to one of my cousins 10 days before it, this year! she ended up telling all of my mom's side of the family, so I had to face them for the first time on christmas with them knowing about me. I was sooooooo nervous driving up to the house, I didnt want to walk in but I kept moving forward.  and they ended up being all cool and normal like if they didnt even know, well,  except for one of my older cousins (26) who wouldnt leave me the hell alone, now at least I didnt loose him, but he wasnt accepting of me being gay at all, it started off with him telling me that once Im with a girl that I wont want anything els in the world, of course it was waayyyy more derogatory than that. then he made jokes about being gay all night, and it was very awkward for everybody, I could tell that they all wanted him to shut the hell up. man, I was sooo tempted to just get up and say to everyone "IM GAY BIG F-ING DEAL" jeeez! but I just kept thinking that my mom was there, and she doesnt even know. and I promised my cousin, the one who I came out to, that I wouldnt come out like that, and that the holidays were a time for the family to get together to be grateful that we have one another, not for one person to make it all about themselves. but it was really hard to be grateful for that one cousin in those moments, cause I really wanted to rip his damn head off, and hand it to his face if you know what I mean. god Im just get really tired of people making a big deal about it ALL the time b/c its SOOOO old and its all be said and done before, ugghh people like him piss me off, its like,  GOD DAMN, GET OVER IT, if your not gay why the hell do you worry about it so damn much!? jeeze worry about something in your own life if you even have one, I just dont get how its possible for anybody to be so stupid. he was the LAST person I was expecting this from, hes always been so quiet, respectful, and decent, and other family members who I was afraid of coming out to were all good with it, why is that?  it just goes to show you just dont know people.
