Nathan Lane to play Brad Garrett's gay brother on "'Til Death"?

Michael Ausiello is reporting that he's heard that out actor Nathan Lane is set to play a sweeps stunt gay character in an upcoming episode of 'Til Death, appearing as Brad Garrett's gay brother.

While we're happy to see a gay actor playing a gay character on television, we hope that Lane knows what he's getting into before their first table-read...

We're not exactly big Garrett-boosters over here. Not only does 'Til Death pretty much suck, but he also said some questionable things back in the wake of the Isaiah Washington "faggot" scandal:

"Should he be fired? For saying that word? Isaiah's got to come to my show. We open every table read with words like this."

So ... excuse us if we pause mid-cartwheel at the news.

Granted, this could be Garrett's way of apologizing (or doing damage control) for his earlier lack of sensitivity, so we'll see. Either way the ep had better be funnier than the last two seasons or it's not going to earn him any new fans anyway.
