To Make a Long Story Short ... Neil gets Street, a moment of silence for Football Wives, and more!

  • Neil Patrick Harris lookin' tough. (Or, at least, as tough as anyone can be expected to look in a Sesame Street muscle shirt.) And David Burtka from On the Lot looks cute as ever!
  • Neil Patrick Harris (as Barney on How I Met Your Mother) looking not-so-tough when guest star Mandy Moore refers to his "enormous vagina" when she appears in the season premiere as a tattooed rocker-chick.
  • Televisionista's sad, sad eulogy for the late Football Wives pilot, including some great Eddie Cibrian pics. *sniffle*
  • Let's see if I can get this right: there's apparently some kind of online community set within a superhero video game called City of Heroes, and a group of gay players known as the Wig Heroes recently staged a sort of Virtual Wigstock within the game, and not even invading aliens could derail the parade of celebrity impersonators, which included "The Lady Bunny, Lady Miss Kier, Patsy and Edina, Cher, Britney, Janet, Ru Paul, Christina, Madonna, the girls from 9 to 5 (Dolly, Lilly and Jane), Rihanna, Pink, Daft Punk and of course the Spice Girls."
  • The New York Post asks, "Are You a Gay Senator?" Um, not with those recycled stereotypes we ain't. Showtunes? Really? How very first-season Will & Grace.
  • A new clip of Cate Blanchett as Bob Dylan in gay director Todd Haynes' increasingly fascinating upcoming film, I'm Not There.

SHWING!

That Eddie... he is way too hot to be wearing that towel!! ;) But seriously, canceling that
show is heart-wrenching! I miss it already! It MUST be allowed for public viewing sometime?! It's just GOT TO!! :(

As for CITY OF HEROES... yeah, I think there are several groups that are gay friendly. I can't think of them at the moment, but basically, from what I understand is that when you buy the game and play online, you have to play through a "server". These servers basically allow groups of players to play the same game, and I believe you can go even further by searching the descriptions on each server to find the kind of gaming experience you prefer. Some are for villains, some more action oriented, etc. Some servers are listed as gay friendly, or run by LGBT people. I know this is true also for the Lord of the Rings online game (and probably a lot of others as well.)

And thanks for the funny pic of Neil Patrick! That shirt is hilarious! :) Does anyone know what kind of dog he's walking?

City of Heroes

Basically, after you buy the software (which, I think can be picked up for $30 nowadays) you pay for monthly access ($15/mo)to their servers where your characters are saved. One advantage of CoH is that free updates are made available every few months so the game always can stay fresh, depending on how you play. (Those updates do make the game more challenging for newbies tho.)

The culture there is very gay friendly and there are a number of gay groups out there and some of the community liaisons have appeared at pride events as a show of support on CoH's behalf.

I've heard CoH referred to as the most gay-friendly MMO but I can't judge that since I haven't played any other MMOs -- though CoH hasn't had any scandals like World of Warcraft or LotR Online.

As for NPH's dog, I have no clue about what that is but the one you're showing is a shih tzu.
