News, Reviews & Commentary on Gay and Bisexual Men in Entertainment and the Media

Neil Patrick Harris, Jack Black, Margaret Cho and more in "Prop 8 - The Musical"

Courtesy of FunnyOrDie, gay songsmith Marc Shaiman (South Park, Hairspray) and out director Adam Shankman (Hairspray) have created a musical about Proposition 8, Jesus, and how gay marriage could save the country. Seriously. Watch closely and you might notice Maya Rudolph, Andy Richter, Sarah Chalke, Jenifer Lewis, Kathy Najimy, Allison Janney, and more in the number. These people are awesome.

Very cool

Their hearts were definitely in the right place, and I thank them for their support.  That said, it probably could've been punched up a little, joke wise.

She sang and she sang and she sang...and sang...

I thought it was pretty cute.  I adore Maya, Margaret, Jenifer, and a few of the others.  But watching this just reminds me that a Jackie's Back! soundtrack isn't available. :-(

Yup, funny but...

I am not sure how much of a difference it would have made during the camapign itself -- it might have been treated a a 'attack' on religion and or something like that.  So perhaps it was a pr move.

It is still very funny, although the video clip does not play too well on older, slower, computers.  Neil Patrick Harris and Jack Black are both wonderful actors as is the guy from Chicago/Walk Hard.  Mostly camoes from alot of the other people and distribution beyond the net, might be difficult.

Do people really find love at a gay pride parade? Most of the time I find free samples from businesses, sometimes an item worth buying and find the friendly pot-luck folks at PFLAG.   I am not sure if 'love' is what people find at pride parades.... ;0)
