New Kevin and Scotty pics from the "Brothers & Sisters" Season 3 premiere!

Luke MacFarlane as Scotty

Yes, we're nearing the return of the Walker clan and all their boozy, Boniva-spiked glory (Sunday, September 28th on ABC, dontcha know). And as you may recall, the family has a new permanent member in Scotty, much as the cast has a new regular member in out actor in Luke MacFarlane, who is upped from "recurring" this season.

Matthew Rhys as Kevin

Those are the boys' spanky new portraits for the new season (note the wedding ring on Scotty?), and here's a buncha pics of the fellas enjoying domestic bliss ... with the help of some sassy cocktails.

"Should I do my Norma Desmond routine now, or should I wait until after dinner?"

"Wow, not a spot! Thanks, Cascade!"

Lots more after the break!

"What I really wanna do is be on Top Design"

"Thanks for calling 1-800-KEW-T-PTOOTIE, how can I help you?"

Scotty demonstrates the patented Nora Two-Handed Pour-and-Talk

"Welcome to Malibu. We'll have you gay in no time."

"You do realize that if you become more popular than me I'm bribing Berlanti to have you eaten by a rogue lion."

I still miss Eric Winter

I liked the "Sam and Diane" chemistry love/hate thing Kevin had with Robert's brother.  Plus, on a superficial side, Eric Winter was much hotter.  I hope he at least guest stars a few times.

For the love of Wiis, can Luke stop looking so friggin' cute/hot (depending on the shot)?! And slightly like an ex of mine (also shot-dependent).

I mean, hot straight guys we know we can't have. But hot gay guys? That's just torture.

Chad fan

And I miss Jason Lewis as Chad. Of all three relationships Kevin had, Scotty is my least favourite. But they are married now, so it's going to be Kevin and Scotty for a while, I guess.

Can't wait to see more of Saul (Ron Rifkin) and his storyline!

A while?

A while?  It's marriage, so try forever, oh pessimist.  Yeah yeah, I know it's a soap, but wouldn't it be revolutionary if the GAY couple were the loving stable ones for once?  I want Kevin and Scotty to be the Blake and Krystal of Brothers & Sisters?

Sixth pic down stopped me cold. Who knew Luke MacFarlane had such long eyelashes? Pretty eyes and stubble. I'm dying.

For some reason, seeing the ring makes me so happy!

I love Luke and missed Kevin/Scotty when they weren't together. I'm happy that it's Kevin/Scotty now. :) Sorry, I felt like Luke and the pairing of Kevin/Scotty needed some love.

They're too cute! Now that they've made Luke a regular, I'm afraid I'll have to start watching the show, not just the Kevin/Scotty scenes.

I'm so excited

Luke is extremely cute!

Luke is extremely cute!

Glad he's gay! He is perhaps the "openly" gay among the TGoDT couples. That makes him my favorite among my favorites.

And don't discount the fact that he's handsome on every angle.

Actually, he's the second one

Dennis Grabosch from ALLES WAS ZAEHLT is the other one who's openly gay.

Matthew Rhys

What about Matthew Rhys? He looks very good! If it weren't for Matthew playing Kevin, Luke might not even be in B&S. I think both look great. Preference for Matthew, but than, I'm a fan of him first, and Luke second. And to me, yes, Kevin is finally with the person, he belongs with, Scotty.

I am more than curious to find out how they will do as a couple. Can't wait.

I think it got more to do

I think it got more to do with Luke being the openly gay one,not that we don`t LOOOVE Matthew. They are both very adorable, nobody can take away from it. ;)

I`m also very curious about how they gonna develop their relationship.I wish Luke got to do more than standing/sitting there looking pretty(not that I mind though). He is a fine actor and deserves better than that.

The boys have been taking cute pills, that`s for sure.

And I'm totally in love with Luke !

Does anyone know the way?

Kevin and Scotty are extremely cute couple! Their marriage scene was really moving. But sadly I have to make do with the fragments of their scenes  on youtube. I'm living in Japan and I can't find a way to watch each of the episodes (for free) so far. If anyone know the way, please tell me. It would be really really appreciated!

Love the show...

...and the fact that fans can actually debate which of Kevin's boyfriends they liked best just goes to show there was enough screen time spent with him and them for it to matter. How often does that happen on a prime-time family drama?

Put me down as one who favored Scotty the hottie (though it  sure was a pretty close race.)

And Luke looks so frreakin' adorable in that first photo! (Sigh...)

Writing, directing, producers . . .

There is so much that contributes to Kevin's story arc and I thank everyone involved. We fell in love with Scotty from a mere five episodes at the beginning of the first season. Kevin and Scotty's break-up was so heart-felt. Scotty telling Kevin how he felt worthless and clutching that pilliow so naturally. It felt authentic. Then for the two episodes that Kevin was actually "dating" Jason people fell in love with that relationship, too. Chad was present for about seven episodes. Such a relatively short period of time considering how many other storylines were going on at the time. Its great how we have material to analyze who was best for Kevin and have real examples to support our favorite.

In the finale last season, Kevin

took greast pains to point out that he and Scotty weren't "married", as it wasn't legal in California last May.  Now that it is, I hope that's addressed and we learn that Kevin and Scotty were legally married over the summer.

California Supreme Court ruling will be addressed

Monica Breen (one of the B&S showrunners) has said (as did Greg Berlanti) that the Supreme Court ruling in California will be addressed on the show.  She did not say how it would be addressed or if Kevin and Scotty are going to be married in the window between the decision and the election.

I maintain this is one opening Kevin (in keeping with the character's position on marriage equality) would take in a heartbeat.  If, per chance, Prop 8 does pass (God forbid), Kevin - the lawyer - would want to be a part of any civil/class action that follows.

I Never Cared Much For Scotty....

I dunno, I never really liked Scotty.  He's a bit too melodramatic for my tastes.  And I've honestly never felt (and I still don't feel) that Kevin loves him.   He likes him and cares about him, but it doesn't seem like love to me.   I always felt that Kevin settled for Scotty because he thinks he should be in a long term relationship.... and Scotty was always the most available while his other relationships were with men who put some sort of emotional or physical distance between them.

OTOH, it's great that B&S continue to promimently feature Kevin and now Scotty.  They do treat them just like anyone else on the show.  I just hope that we see Scotty and get to know him as more than just Kevin's partner and that he is features in stories and plots not related to his relationship.  With the right stories, I might grow to like the character.

Scotty is the only partner Kevin's had who challenges him

to behave like an adult. He's open and honest about what he's feeling and he's very passionate. He's not closeted and tortured and he's not pompus and self-absorbed.

From the second he met Kevin, Scotty has called him on his crap and I think that's what Kevin loves about Scotty (and he's sweet, kind and very very pretty!)

Scotty is completely comfortable with himself and loves life and loved Kevin's family (warts and all)

Scotty is the perfect balance for how uptight and rigid Kevin can be.

Kevin is the perfect balance for how overly trusting and tempetuous Scotty can be.

Chad was a good looking and sexy but he was also a closet case, a liar, a cheater and a coward. I think he loved Kevin but he was always going to put himself first. He was nowhere near ready to be in a relationship.

Jason will always have to put his faith before any relationship he's in if he remains true to his calling (which is not a bad thing) but not every man will be able to deal with that (particularly a non-religious man like Kevin). Jason and Kevin also have very different political views which may not matter to some people but definitely matter to Kevin.

No matter how many times they broke up, the second Kevin saw Scotty again, he was in love with him again because he never stopped being in love with him.

When he was with Chad, when he was with Jason, he couldn't stay away from Scotty.

Not every true love has to be full of torment and screaming and slamming doors.

I'm just saying, I like that for once there's a gay couple that just LOVES each other unequivocably, passionately, without so many barriers.

They are sexual and they are domestic and it's sweet and when they fight it's about the things other couples fight about.

The whole scene in the car when Kevin asks Scotty "How do I make this better?" (After Scotty poked his nose in the Jaseon/Kevin tea party) PERFECTION! I well up every time I see it.

Of course the show is always going to focus more on Kevin because he's a Walker and the show is about the Walkers but I hope that we'll get to see Scotty navigating the Walker Clan in his own special way (much like Rebecca)

Scotty versus Jason

I agree completely darcolover55, and I want to add a thought of my own.  To me it seems like most of the pro-Jason partisans tend to favor him purely because they perceive him to be better looking than Scotty.

That's a pretty shallow measurement in my opinion.

Jason is very self-absorbed.  While it can be argued that as a minister he does good things for other people he is also very selfish all the same.  He utterly ignored Kevin during his "crisis of faith", not the least bit concerned about whether doing so was hurting Kevin or whether it might be appropriate to share his issues with his supposed partner.  Instead Jason simply shut Kevin out until he felt interested in speaking to him again.

With Kevin and Scotty there's more of a dynamic.  Scotty is independent enough not to depend on Kevin emotionally, but at the same time he knows when to speak up or reach out if he feels something's wrong.

To Kevin I think that this is very critical, because he's looking for a connection with someone.  Even when he and Scotty argue they're both reaching for that connection.  This wasn't the case with Jason.  Jason, in a somewhat clergy-like manner I must say, merely tries to justify himself rather than connect.

That was why that episode with the three of them was so telling.  Jason wasn't really reaching out.  He showed up and tried to justify himself to Kevin.  Jason simply laid down his reasons for his behavior and expected Kevin to accept them.  Period.  If Kevin wanted him then he just had to live with Jason's justifications.

Scotty inserting himself into the "tea party" however was different.  He was asserting some territorialism over Kevin, which Kevin really liked after Jason's neglect.  But in their argument after Jason left Scotty laid his worries out on the table openly.  Again, this was the opposite of Jason who merely ignored Kevin during his "crisis of faith" and tried to just impose that as an excuse.

So we have two very different men here.  Scotty wants a partnership with Kevin.  Jason wanted the classic submissive "minister's wife".  For someone like Kevin the latter was never going to be acceptable.

To me Kevin and Scotty have real romantic chemistry, not just eye-appeal. Like any real relationship they have their challenges and conflicts, but they are two people who clearly want to be together.

Besides, Scotty fits in with the nutty Walker crowd better than Jason (or Chad) ever would.

scotty's the one

i agree that scotty is the only man who can hang with the walker clan. plus, as much as nora's histrionics bother me, she does need someone to have on her side, and i think that scotty's that guy. btw, everyone here is commenting on scotty being the right guy for kevin. here's something that might bother some, i always wish that justin was the gay one. those puppy dog eyes drive me nuts.
Psionycx's picture

That would take a major retcon

Given that Justin doesn't just like women, he absolutely loves women.  In particular he seems to love having sex with women.

Although it was funny that his grandmother thought that if any of them were gay it would be Justin. However she may have been bigoted in saying so, since she made the statement after Nora admitted that Justin was a drug addict, while expressing disbelief that mature, successful Kevin could be gay.

I agree that he's adorable.  But lots of straight guys are.
