Being a devoted fan of Halloween I can't believe I'm saying this, but I cannot wait for November 26th to get here. That's the day that Gus Van Sant's Harvey Milk biopic Milk (starring Sean Penn) opens in limited cities (it then expands on December 6th).

The inspiration
 

I'm excited because my family and friends are going to be able to see a story of an honest-to-God gay civil rights hero brought to life with an A-list cast and pedigree. I'm excited because I'm insanely curious to see how Penn handles the title role. And I'm excited because I secretly love to cry in public and this movie is guaranteed to have me reduced to a puddle of tears from the opening credits.
