New video blog! "Sordid Lives: The Vlog" gives an insider's look at the new series
We're excited to unveil a brand-spanking-new video blog, courtesy of our friends at Logo (which is also our parent company, of course). As you may have heard, Sordid Lives: The Series premieres next week on the gay net, and we've somehow talked series creator Del Shores and star Jason Dottley into doing a weekly vlog to give us the inside scoop on the episodes, showcase special guests and discuss all things home-fried, big-haired, and ... well, Southern. In this intro, we meet Del and Jason (who are also husbands - yes, they can do that now in California!), who give us some background on the origins of the series and what folks can expect to see. Check it out after the break, and be sure to visit logoonline.com each week for a new episode (they've decided to run the vlog there in the future, to fit in with all the other Sordid Lives content). Savage (5 points) (1 post) on Sun, 2008-07-20 19:50.You were talking about Emmy Award winners...did you know that in addition to the Grammys you mentioned, the fantastic Olivia Newton-John is an Emmy Award winner too??? She won in 1999 for Outstanding Original Song - "Love Is A Gift" - I think it was used in one of the soaps. So, there you go... Any plans to bring some black trash to mix it up with the white trash in "Sordid Lives" future? That would be way cool... Emmy for LivvySubmitted by
Jason Dottley (25 points) (6 posts) on Sun, 2008-07-20 21:29.Hi Savage! I had no idea about Olivia's Emmy win.. As far as black trash is concerned, there's more than you can imagine swimming in Del's mind, and black trash is on the list :) best, jason dottley I can't waitSubmitted by
cakeOrDeath (92 points) (28 posts) on Mon, 2008-07-21 05:58.Del, I have treasured 'Sordid Lives' for nigh on 20 or 30 years now, ever since it first came to my attention. It may have been on a laser disc, or maybe a betamax, I don't know. Anyway, I remember that I laughed and laughed. The laughter of recognizing my own not especially easy to live with kin. Yes, it's not an easy laugh, but it does clear out a bit of that deep rooted anger. hmm, memories... I'm from North Carolina, so I get it. Anyway, can't wait to see more of these lovely, lovely people. And especially that cute Jason of yours! My word! I would have married him, too. Congratulations to the both of you. Now, I know you're dying to know, so here's my favorite line - "Shoot her, Wardell. Shoot her in the head!" I think it's the specificity that appeals to me. Can't wait!Submitted by

Hey there...
First off, a sincere "Congratulations!" on your marriage (I'm assuming the actual ceremony took place recently?).
I only discovered "Sordid Lives" a couple of months ago, but just loved the film. The cast was great (though I confess a particular fondness for Beth Grant). I'm so looking forward to the series (and how cool that you guys are taking the time to comment on the episodes; thanks).
While I'm waiting for the first episode to air, I have an off-topic question. I was just curious as to how "Southern Baptist Sissies" is coming along; I can't find out much about it on-line. Has the filming been completed? Any idea as to a release date?
I'm like a superhero, with no powers or motivation...
Sissies
Hi OctoberCountry,
Thanks for being our first comment on our first Vlog! You have taken our vlog-ginity. :)
Southern Baptist Sissies is still in development. We are currently raising the remaining funds needed to film. It will happen. Most likely after we shoot season 2 of Sordid Lives: The Series :)
My best,
jason dottley
You just can't fake chemistry like that!
