NYC Subway hero Chad Lindsey brings his train-stopping smile to Rachel Maddow

You may have heard that earlier this week a NYC actor jumped onto the subway tracks and hoisted a man who had fallen onto them to the safety of the platform (and yes, a train was approaching), and then picked up his backpack and got on the train.

The actor in question is Chad Lindsey, and you may recognize him from several gay films. Lindsey played the lead gay role in Totally Sexy Loser, and also appeared in gay films Girls Will Be Girls and Straight-Jacket, as well as on shows like LoveSpring International, How I Met Your Mother and So NoTORIous.

Currently Lindsey is appearing Off-Off-Broadway in Kaspar Hauser, but this clip of the toothy actor doing his charming thing on last night's Rachel Maddow Show should be enough to tide over you folks far from the Great White Way. There's buzz on the Internet that Lindsey is openly gay (apparently on the director's commentary for the gay short film Caught the director reveals that Chad had dated his co-star, Benjamin Sprunger), but the actor hasn't publicly said so as of yet.
