outTunes: Jay Brannan, "Can't Have It All"

The adorable (and talented) out singer/songwriter is back with the next single from his full-length debut, goddamned. Check out the moody and kind of gorgeous video for "Can't Have it All" and let us know what you think!

Yay!

I was wondering if the video would get notice from this site.  I saw it a couple days ago (and several times since) and it is so good!  The song is very catchy, but deep and meaningful at the same time.  I hope he gets the fame he deserves!  Everyone go buy his album "Goddamned" on iTunes!

Simple, gorgeous

Sometimes the hardest thing for an artist to do is to make something "simple", but how beautiful simple can be.

If it were still around, they would have featured this on an episode of Gilmore Girls. . .

Kudos to all. . .

The "out" qualifier...

I want to enjoy this, but I'm still a little unsure how I feel about his diatribe against accepting the label "gay artist" at http://jaybrannan.blogspot.com/2009/02/big-annoying-gay-factor.html

A quote: "i don't feel a bond to other gay people just because they are gay, i don't identify with them as a 'community,' and i'm not interested in being their poster boy."

I suspect he'd be insulted that you bothered to mention "out" as a point of interest in promoting his song. Of course, you are a writing to a specific audience that does find it to be a point of interest, but I'm not sure Brannan would appreciate that.

Jay's a cutie alright

Though "cutie" comments might make him wince I suspect. Saw him in Northampton MA this past November and he was funny and ironic and charming, as well as self-effacing, both on-stage and off. And though he was suffering through a cold he sang beatifully. Jay Brannan in Paris. I'm jealous!
