Queerview television guide for April 26th

Here are our picks for what's gayest on the tube today...

Ugly Betty (ABC) 8:00PM EDT
I seriously thank the stars every day for this show, which is both ridiculously gay AND incredibly good -- unfortunately a rare combo on network television. And when I say "stars", I of course mean Rebecca Romijn (whose Alexis has her first date tonight as a woman), Eric Mabius (whose backsliding lothario Daniel has become entangled with a Russian con artist -- the fabulous Ivana Milecevic -- and her daughter), and Becky Newton (whose underrated Amanda becomes involved with a designer -- played by Mykel Shannon Jenkins -- whom she of course assumes is gay). And then I thank America Ferrera, Vanessa Williams, Michael Urie, and Yoko Ono, for good measure. Why Yoko? Because I'm scared of what will happen to me if I don't.

30 Rock (NBC) 9:00PM EDT
I tried with this one as long as I could, through the highs (the Emmy-worthy Paul Reubens episode) and the lows (the disappointing Will Arnett gay episode) -- and it's kind of lost me by this point. How do I know? Because not even the gay-rific one-two punch of Sean Hayes and Elaine Stritch (pictured at left) can get me too excited about tuning in. Elaine Stritch? Hey -- at least all those people who caught the parody skit in the Big Gay Sketch Show and had no idea what the hell was going on will know what they're missing.

Here's a pretty funny collection of the best romantic misadventures of Liz Lemon (Tina Fey) -- including the gay bits -- that features a teeny preview of tonight's season finale at the end:
