Queerview television guide for April 4th

Another fairly dull day in Gaytelevisionsville, so it's a great time to catch up on some oldies-but-goodies.

Ellen (Oxygen) 1:00PM - 6:00PM EDT
Not the talk show, the sitcom -- remember, the one where eponymous lead Ellen (Degeneres) came out of the closet in one of the most groundbreaking episodes in television history? No? Doesn't ring any bells? Well, here's a great chance to catch up, as Oxygen airs ten back-to-back episodes of the series this afternoon.

If we're watching Oxygen anyway, may as well stick around for one of the funniest, smartest, and gayest teen comedies of recent years, Brian Dannelly's Saved!. Mandy Moore, Jena Malone, Heather Matarazzo, Macaulay Culkin, and Martin Donovan star in this wacky romp through an Evangelical high school, which features gay boyfriends, reparative therapy, giant Jesuses, teen pregnancy, and more. It's biting without being mean, and a lot of fun besides.

Top Design (Bravo) 10:00PM EDT
All the gay guys are gone (well, except for Todd Oldham and Jonathan Adler, who do kind of run the whole thing), but the three remaining designers -- Matt, Carissa, and Andrea -- brought it to the last challenge and are interesting to watch. In tonight's episode they have to design a room around an Elle Decor cover, which will give ample opportunity for pickled judge Margaret Russell to get nasty.
