It's a once-in-a-season occurrence, but it's happened: there are three shows on at exactly the same time today that merit tuning in. I suggest buying two extra TiVos, growing two extra heads, or enrolling in an accelerated ex-gay "reparative therapy" program before sunset.
Here's what's gayest on the tube for Tuesday, March 27th.
Work Out (Bravo) 10:00PM EDT
Did we happen to mention last week's premiere of season two of Bravo's Tricep Opera, Work Out? I honestly wasn't the biggest fan of the show last year, but this season is shaping up to be some fantastic -- not to mention incredibly queer -- television. The late Doug Blasdell is coaching his ex-lover Cheo back to health after kidney failure, Jesse is coaching himself back to fitness after culinary school, Jackie is still letting that Mimi wacko rattle about in the wings (although I have a theory as to why: anyone else notice the resemblance between Mimi and Jackie's Pomeranians?), and to top it all off, Kathy Griffin shows up. I'm kinda hooked.
Dirt (FX) 10:00PM EDT
I am not a fan of FX's misconceived, miscast, humorless stab at satirizing Hollywood -- but honestly, who is NOT going to tune in to see Monica and Rachel bump trademark haircuts? Yes, in tonight's season finale, Jennifer Aniston appears as a former lover of Lucy (Courtney Cox) and the two share a chaste kiss that likely says "sorry your new series tanked" and "yeah -- sorry about that Jolie woman stealing your life" more than "we used to have crazy hot lady-sex together". Still, this could very well be the last episode ever, so why not show up for the sendoff?
Law & Order: SVU (NBC) 10:00 EDT
Yes, Virginia, there was a Ted Haggard scandal, and it did involve a preacher and a male prostitute. But that doesn't mean that we need three separate copycat stories on three shows on the same network that share the same Law & Order name -- are these people not in each other's "Fives"? Tonight Tim Daly (um ... oh right, that cute Wings guy!) plays a fallen preacher apparently mixed up with a hustler who is murdered.
Expect the same plot to show up again next week on Deal or No Deal.
