Goodness it's a pretty morning here in New York City: the sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and the rumble of diesel trucks barrelling through residential neighborhoods is somehow less distracting than usual. Must be spring. But no matter -- time for television!

Yes, I just said "According to Jim". In tonite's episode of a show that has only existed for me up until this point as an abstract concept, Jim (Jim Belushi) finds Cheryl (Courtney Thorne-Smith) a gay guy to take to musicals with her so that he doesn't have to go. Single-episode repeat offender Patrick Fischler (himself a song-and-dance man) may be the gay in question, and he may not -- we'll have to watch to find out (he did play a gay receptionist, Pepe, on Nash Bridges). Hey -- has anyone ever started an escort service where straight men can rent gays to do all the icky sissy stuff that they don't like to do with their wives? Like, say, show respect for their interests?

One out gay male contestant left (Anthony -- not to mention lesbians Daisy and Tabatha) and the continued presence of the arch gentlemen on the show's judging Coifia (get it? Coif? Mafia? Eh...) make this one worth tuning in for. And tonight they're cutting men's hair, so there may be some added gay material in the form of fussy hair models. I'm hoping to see at least one combover!
