Your Gay of the Week: Scotty Wandell, "Brothers & Sisters"

Brothers & Sisters' Scotty Wandell (Luke Macfarlane) has managed to thwack the velvet crown off the head of reigning two-time Gay of the Week Noah Mayer (As the World Turns).

In the closest heat yet in the battle for the most fabulous crown in television, Scotty barely sneaked past Mayer but left competitors Marc St. James (Ugly Betty) and Lance Bass (Dancing With the Stars) in the dust. To find out just how much dust, meet me after the jump!

Why he won: This week Scotty got a promotion and once again stood his ground against his husband, Kevin Walker, who once again did something rather stupid (in this case, buying Scotty a house).

How he won: Scotty pulled in 41% of the total votes, squeaking past Noah's 37%. Meanwhile, non-challengers Marc St. James and Lance Bass tied with 11% apiece.

Past wins: This is Scotty's first nomination and first win.

Scotty will wear the crown for a full two weeks thanks to the Thanksgiving holiday, so it's a good thing Luke Macfarlane has such an adorable mug. Enjoy his reign!

Wandell?

I've always seen this surname as Waddell. Would this alternate spelling be some kind of subtle homosexual subliminal suggestion, encouraging all of us meat-eaters to think of the man's wand?

The blog smells subliminality.

Scotty!

Finally a winner I like to look at!

I'm rather done with 'ofcourse-they-won't-relationship' Nuke has. They are unbelievable at best. .

But Kevin and Scotty.... much better. And the next 3 episodes will have Scotty in them, so I hope that the crown stays with B&S for a little longer.

Scotty should really be our permanent King... or is it Queen?

He deserves the crown !!!

Adding Scotty to the regular characters on Brothers and Sisters was a stroke of genius for the producers of this very very well written and well acted show.  Bravo!  Bravo! Bravo! to the way Kevin and Scotty's marriage is being protrayed.  Quite normal.  Gee...new concept....gay men are quite normal people who have normal relationships with all the challenges and benefits that come with being in love.

KMK

My apologies to one and all - but pray you will forgive this indulgence and non sequitur as I thought it might be of passing interest to some on this blog/board.

And what might that be you may very well ask - well, three decades ago +, I had the incredible good fortune to see Marc Singer play the lead role of Petruchio in SF's Repertory company's production of Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew," which Master Singer performed in large part sans chemise (shirtless for those of you who do not know French) and in the early '70's, Marc Singer's bare chest was indeed a sight to behold!

Well, on a lark, I queried Marc Singer Taming of the Shrew (or Kiss Me Kate) on You Tube and low and behold the 8 minute version of Petruchio's wooing of Kate sans chemise is there in all its splendorous glory!!

ENJOY!!!!
