Rufus Wainwright and family bring their talent and holiday sweaters to "Martha Stewart"

I've mentioned before that I'm a proud Martha Stewart fanatic: I use her recipes, do her craft projects and watch her daily show obsessively. Do I think she's nuts? Oh, absolutely. Girlfriend scares the bejeezus out of me. She's also a curiously flatline TV personality and terrible interviewer, but that's part of what I love about the gal.

So Tuesday's show was extra-special for me because one of my favorite singer/songwriters, Rufus Wainwright, was on the show with several members of his extended family, and he took the opportunity to dispel several myths:

Myth 1: All gay men are whizzes in the kitchen. (Just watch him eff up the recipe!)
Myth 2: Martha Stewart can't interview a guest without somehow insulting or belittling them. (Martha displays an open affection and respect for both Rufus and his mom that I've seriously never seen before from the old gal.)
Myth 3: Gay guests on Martha Stewart (and there are plenty) are gay in theory only. (Watch as Rufus makes offhand references to his boyfriend, which is seriously very rare for the men that come on the show.)

This is what the holidays are all about: Tradition, song, and horribly botched recipes.
