Shear Genius: who ordered the straightener?

I don't know if anyone else is watching Shear Genius, but I'm totally obsessed. The contestants are 31 flavors of disaster, Jaclyn Smith is still hot enough to fry eggs on, and the haircuts that are unleashed upon the poor "clients" provide enough schadenfreude to get me through the whole week.

But there's something truly disappointing about the way that the competition is playing out thus far.

So what's this with two of the three gay guys getting booted by week three? Isn't merely being a gay man enough to guarantee success in the field of hairdressing anymore? I totally agree that both Jim's and Theodore losing cuts fully earned them the boot (the cowboy boot, in Theodore's case), but is there no gay man out there who can defend this stereotypically gay field from the scourges of heterosexuality? I mean, fashion design (Project Runway), interior design (Top Design), and now this -- what will they want to take away from us next ... air stewarding? If Bravo launches a Top Air Mary show, we'll know that they have ulterior motives.

Thank God we still have Anthony in the running to represent us -- he's talented, polite, and more than just a little adorable. Be sure to tune back in tomorrow for our full recap of Genius -- in the meantime, what'd you think of last night's episode? Was Theodore's elimination not the most fabulous exit in reality competition history?
