Video: "Shelter" star Trevor Wright checks in to "Vacancy 2: The First Cut"

Just a quick mention for you Shelter fans out there that star Trevor Wright is starring in the sequel to the 2007 thriller Vacancy (which starred Luke Wilson and Kate Beckinsale) as one of three lodgers terrorized by the owners of a "snuff motel".

Another bit of gay-adjacent trivia: The main villain is played by David Moscow (from Big and Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane), who will be playing Orlando Jones' husband in the upcoming gay parenting comedy Misconceptions, coming out in August.

Whaddaya think? Are Wright and Moscow enough to get you to check in?

Supposedly...

...the first cut is the deepest.

Sorry Brian, I could not resist.  Since you are the horror expert, I was wondering what you thought of the original Vacancy.  I love scary movies, but am not into torture porn.  Was the first movie scary without being disgusting?

Not bad

In my opinion the first one's a decent B-movie that's elevated by a decent cast and doesn't wallow too much in the torturey bits. If you're prone to paranoia it will definitely get to you, but overall it's pretty popcorn. It's a little more clever than THE STRANGERS, at least.

when talking about David Moscow...

one must always mention Newsies!

Ridiculous, isn't it?

I get this error often on YouTube because I like some non-American acts like the UK's Will Young. He and others have official channels hosted on YouTube that overseas fans can subscribe to, sure, but we aren't able to view the content because it's "not available in your area."

Like DVD region encoding of the late 20th century, these artificial walls on distribution, purchase, streaming or viewing are madness in the 21st century.  "Rights holders" need to find a way to make it work and realize they have a potential global audience, not just a geographic niche.

Oh my...

What lengths we have fallen Mr. Wright.  From a decent, well received gay-love movie to a straight to DVD horror movie sequel...  I hope playing gay didn't pigeon-hole him as the stereotype seems to go.
