Just because: Sigur Ros's heartbreaking gay video

This video has been out for a little while now, but since we haven't featured it here on the blog we thought we'd offer it as a mid-afternoon distraction. It's the video for Icelandic band Sigur Ros' song "Viðrar vel til Loftárása", which of course I can pronounce with no difficulty (not). The band's singer, Jónsi, is gay (and also blind in one eye), and even if you're not instantly a fan of their haunting orchestration and melodies, it's nearly impossible to not be moved by the video's story of two boys in love.

Interestingly enough, an Icelandic movie called Eleven Men Out -- which did quite well in its home country and opens in theaters here in July -- also has a gay soccer theme. Check out the video below -- it's really something.
