Suck It Up & Dance! vlog (Episode 5): Give my regards to Mr. Broadway

Here he cooomes, Mr. Broadwaaay ... Suck It Up this week is all about pageants and glitter (and dancing like the manliest of men, of course!) so prepare yourselves. John and Colin also welcome an amazing guest: the winner of the second-annual Broadway Beauty Pageant, Marty Thomas!

Marty entered as Mr. Xanadu and roller-skated out of there with the title - and with that tiara! The fellas chat about Xanadu's origins, roller-skating injuries and his childhood owning of one Britney Spears on Ed McMahon's Junior Star Search. And oh yeah, they recap the most recent Damn Yankees-themed episode of Step It Up & Dance. Of course.

Check it all out after the break!

I knew that I knew Marty Thomas from somewhere. What a sweetie. Oh, can I just say that I love the seductive looks that Colin gives the camera. HAWT!

    Oscar was hosed!

I was just in New York and saw Marty in Xanadu--great fun.

I finally watched episode 5 and I have to say that Oscar was completely hosed.  After seeing the auditions there was no way he should have been in the elimination group and there is no way Janelle should have been safe.  The only reason this happened is because the choreographer wanted 2 mixed couples.  This is why the elimination group thing really sucks.  Janelle was terrible in the audition and Oscar nailed it. But, since the choreographer was thinking like a casting director and there is no way anyone would ever cast Oscar as Joe Hardy she put him in the elimination group.  Also, any dancer with partnering experience will tell you a pas de deux is much easier than what the three boys had to do if you've got to act.  I've had problems with this show from the beginning but this episode really pissed me off.

    I Don't Feel Like Dancing

So right after seeing this last episode i have had enough of this farce.

The 2 girls were (maybe) only selected because they needed 2 (straight) couples not because they danced best of the group, and the fact that the 3 gay were all in the elimination group is dodgy at best. Aah wel i wount lose any sleep over it

I don't feel like dancing either Wiccan

I agree with you on this. Janel was REALLY not good in the audition, the notion that she was better than Oscar is laughable. Also, I have to say that the treatment of the gay dancers--and the comments from the (female) judges about the gay dancers in this episode and on the Bravo TV blogs has made me question the intent and format of the show. I think they have already decided that the winner will be the Straight Guy (Cody), no disrespect to him, he's a very good dancer, but the whole format seems to be about making him a star.
