Ten companies to support, as per the AFA Here's some fun news: the ever-selfless folks over at the gay-hating American Family Association have spent hundreds of manhours watching and logging television shows in order to provide us, the country's gays, with a list of the top ten gay-supporting advertisers. The kids at the AFA came at the project with a discipline that bordered on scientific (the other side bordered on "fascist", but that's another story entirely). First, they determined what were to them the most gay-promoting shows. They included: Ugly Betty Funny -- while they claimed to have nabbed the list from GLAAD, that also happens to be a list of some of the most popular and critically lauded shows currently on the air (even The Class won a People's Choice Award). Maybe they mistook "gay supporting" for "quality". They even provide this analysis in their "results":
They watched these homo-heavy shows (must have been torture to expose themselves to such well-written entertainment -- er, immoral content) and counted the number of ads that major companies ran during them. They then tallied the results and determined the top gay supporting companies -- in fact, they even gave handy lists of the companies' products and contact information for each, perhaps so that appreciative gays like ourselves can contact the companies and thank them for their support. Which I suggest we do -- the full details are below (because I'll be damned if I'm linking to their hateful site -- or actually, too late for that, right?). Thanks, AFA! You sure saved me a lot of Googling! 1. Ford Motor Company 2. Toyota 3. AT&T Corporation 4. Procter & Gamble The Procter & Gamble Company 5. Revlon Revlon, Inc. 6. Glaxo Smith Kline 7.
