This Gunn for hire

Bespectacled, beloved, and occasionally bewildered style guru Tim Gunn (who rose to fame as the starched-but-lovable mentor on Project Runway) is having a busy week.

First, the opening chapter of his book, Tim Gunn: A Guide to Quality, Taste, and Style, has been made available at Bravo's website. I took a peek and love how in the first few pages wardrobes are likened to the Sphynx and Diane von Furstenberg is likened to an oracle -- Tim's definitely feeling Greek this season.

On top of this, casting for Tim Gunn's Guide to Style started this week. The casting call seeks "women with a variety of fashion problems to nominate themselves and their friends for the series." I'm a bit disappointed that I can't nominate myself for the show, being a man and all. Although maybe not being a woman could be considered one of "a variety of fashion problems"?

I'm a big Gunn fan and may even consider clicking through all 21 pages of book excerpt in order to bask in his wisdom. He's totally worth the carpal tunnel.
