well, i watched my first and last episode. this lady harasses a gay kid (who, naturally is high on ecstacy...gee, they must have watched an episode of "queer as folk" from years ago to get their idea of what gay kids do)...until he says he wishes he was dead.

btw, this lady is supposed to be the "hero" of this show.

it happens all the time in show business.

i don't know if that's the case here, though.i'm sure they didn't intend for this character to come off as a cold, heartless shrew...but that's what i got from it. actually, she probably would have treated this kid this way if he was straight, so i don't think it was deliberately homophobic...but it still makes her extremely unlikeable.

while I think the show needs to need try a little balance in its gay representations, like, say, adding a gay detective, I didn't find it homophobic per se. But they need to be careful because if they do too many more eps where the only gay people we say are drug-addled teens and suspects, they are going to start seeming biased.
