T.R. blitz!
Which I of course mean as a compliment -- much like former NBA star John Amaechi before him, T.R. Knight has found his dancecard stuffed to bursting with appearances since his decision to come out a few months back. Just this week we've seen him attend the Drama Desk Awards, host the Obie Awards (with fellow out actor Cynthia Nixon), appear in an Advocate centerpiece interview, guest on the Creation Nation live variety show in NYC, and kick off the NYC AIDS Walk with fellow gay celebs B.D. Wong and Lance Bass (and a whole hash of other cool people, as seen above). Considering that six months ago Knight was a supporting player on a popular nighttime soap with not much to set him apart from the 500 or so other actors in similar situations aside from killer puppy-dog eyes and some theatre cred, it's pretty safe to say that his coming out has done wonders for his visibility. Likewise Bass (who has an upcoming reality show and a book, which is more than most ex-boy-banders) and Neil Patrick Harris, who may not have nabbed guest-hosting gigs on Regis and Kelly and other high-profile appearances had he not come out. Continued kudos for all these guys for their continued visibility. Sure, it helps their careers -- but it also sends a message to everyone that being gay in Hollywood isn't a death sentence or a reason to hide. May the T.R. blitz continue!

I. Luff. T. R.! The Blue
Is that Hal Sparks?
In front of TR Knight.
I'm so happy Neil came out but I think he would have had the hosting jobs even if he were still closeted.
That picture of TR is from
