Brent and Michael are back with a new feature: the Passing Judgment video blog. In this variation on their usual vlog, the fellas get all Olympic (in the mythological sense) on I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, Ugly Betty, and new gay young adult novel The God Box. Will they crown these gay entertainments with laurels, or zap them with Thor's thunderclap?

Really agree with you on Ugly Betty. I was turned off at first but have come to love this show. I refuse to watch Chuck and Larry. It has looked horrible since the first trailers came out. I need to look for Alex Sanchez's new book. I loved his earlier works.

So glad you fellows decided to start reviewing again. (Nice graphics---a far cry from your original "Mars up/down" signs on ping-pong paddles! And I got a "Saved" vibe from your opening titles.)
I only started watching "Ugly Betty" this season, and really, I almost instantly loved the series. I've just ordered the boxed set of the first season; after the holiday rush is over I'll look forward to going through all the older episodes at my leisure.
The God Box is definitely on my to-buy list. I was talking over the topic of sexuality and religion with a friend of mine, recently... While I really do despair of there being any peaceable middle ground between the extremely conservative Christians and the homosexual community, I think it is a huge mistake for gay people to attack the Christian church in general (though I can certainly understand the motivation for doing so, given the hatred dispersed by the worst of so-called "Christians"). Exchanging hate for hate is not going further the gay cause in any way. I honestly do not believe that Christianity and homosexuality are at odds with one another---it all comes down to the way one translates/interprets that tiny handful of New Testament verses that deal with the topic... Interestingly enough, Jesus Himself (the go-to guy of the Christian religion) had absolutely nothing to say on the topic of homosexuality---you'd think if it was such a big deal, He would have mentioned it at one time or another...
