A while back we wrote about how impressed we were that the UK tabs had begun covering gay weddings just the same as they did straight ones. And it seems that even American gay celebrity nuptials are better-covered by the UK rags than their Yank counterparts ... at least when it comes to celebs who have struck it big overseas.

Such is the case of Scissor Sisters and frontman Jake Shears, whose apparent upcoming nuptials have become legit tabby fodder overseas while registering nary a blip here in the States. Granted, the Sisters are much more popular in the UK than they are here, but Shears' wedding will take place in the States, where he just bought a loft with his boyfriend Chris, and yet the news hit The Mirror (which is not even a gay pub) first. (Tip to other American gay couples: if you want your wedding to get coverage by the tabs, invite Kylie Minogue, a Spice Girl, and one of the Little Britain guys.)

As ever, it seems as though we have some catching up to do ... in the meantime, glitter-encrusted hats off to Shears and his partner.
