Your Gay of the Week: Adam Lambert, "American Idol"

He may not have taken the title of American Idol, but the glamtastic Adam Lambehhhrrrr ("It's French, bitch!") was clearly the winner of the hearts of the gay voting public even when sharing the spotlight with that cute little Curious George-lookin' guy with the funny mouth and the guitar.

Appropriately enough, this landmark seventh win for Lambert places him in the Gay Television Hall of Fame for 2009 and puts him in the running for Gay of the Year. But lest you think it was a done deal for Adam to walk away with the crown this week, let me note that this week's voting broke all records since the Battle was launched, and that there are plenty of competitors left to throw down for the rest of the year.

For all the details, read on!

Why he won: Duets with Kiss and Queen, and a genuine good-guy reaction to his loss to Kris. And please, is ANYONE worried that Adam isn't going to be a smash?

How he won: Adam may have bagged a whopping 52% of the votes, but the Fox network's new Marc Jacobs-loving Mr. Cellophane, Kurt from Glee (played by Chris Colfer), pulled a pretty amazing second-place finish (at 32%) considering he's only existed on television for all of five jazz-handed minutes. Officer John Cooper from Southland pulled 10% (slow and steady wins the hot Latino boyfriend, John!) and Calvin from Greek nabbed a mere 4%.

Past wins: This is Adam's seventh and final sojourn in the throne for the year, after which he will be sequestered in the luxurious Hall of Fame until the year-end voting begins. Enjoy the snacks, Adam!

We'll see you on Friday, when your votes will determine who will enjoy gaydom's most sought-after piece of headgear next week!
