Your Gay of the Week: Reg Addington
They say "heavy is the head that wears the crown" ... but in our case we'll need to trade out "heavy" for "dead as a doornail." Yes, recently-deceased Reginald "Reg" Addington from As the World Turns was voted AfterElton.com Gay of the Week by our readers, who despite the recent regime change here in the USA are still content to be ruled my someone who has neither qualifications nor a pulse. Why he won: We could call this one Requiem for a Hot Tub. After appearing on Oakdale's burgeoning gay scene last year to entice Luke and Noah with promises of cocoa-butter-scented bliss, Reg stuck around, serving as the head of Oakdale U's gay student group and moral support for Luke. So when he died this week under mysterious circumstances his fans were none too happy, and gave him the proper sendoff: Internet Infamy! How he won: Reg earned 42% of the votes this week, with RuPaul taking second with 24%. Cheyenne Jackson came close behind with 21%, and Battlestar Galactica's similarly kibboshed Lt. Felix Gaeta squeaked in with a measly 12%. Past wins: This is Reg's first (and last) tour of duty. We'll see you on Friday, when your votes will determine which of four new challengers will inherit the crown. Submitted by on Mon, 2009-02-16 17:56. |
