Olympic-sized picpost: Celebrating the athleticism of the world's great swimmers

(All pics courtesy of NBC)

If you're like me, you've spent the past five nights staying up way past your bedtime to catch all of the Olympics action, or rather all of the hot toned male bodies that writhe across your screen in HD! The Summer Olympics are a smörgåsbord of man candy and there's a rainbow of fruit flavors for all of us to snack on.

Yesterday we brought you the guys of gymnastics but today it's my personal faves, those boys dominating all of the action in the Water Cube, the male swimmers!  Let's get wet, shall we?

Ricky Berens, Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps, USA

Yoshihiro Okumura, JAP

Brendan Hansen, USA

Eamon Sullivan, AUS

Lots more after the break!

Cullen Jones, USA

Grant Hackett, AUS

Team France gears up (yum on the left)

Park Tae-hwan

Aaron Piersol, USA

Kosuke Kitajima, JAP

Jones, Lezak, Phelps and Weber-Gale, USA

Sullivan (AUS) opens wide... and um, no comment...

And for the hell of it, um, um, um for the smell of it - Water Polo!

Greece's Polo Bears, get it... I'm so lame!

More French swimmers and hairy Greek bears... Jazz-hands

WOW. I want all of those Greek jazz-hands one me. Seeing some of the Olympic water polo action reminds me of my childhood as a family member went to Stanford for many years and I kept watching these larger than life hunks from afar during diving/swimming classes. I kept having all these not so PG images that I did not understand, especially when changing in the locker room. Water polo players showering spoke me to me in ways that seduced me and scared the living _____ out of me.

French Swimmers

Thanks Dan. Love your olympic updates. Here's a cool pic I saw on Jezebel yesterday of two french swimmers.

Oh my...I knew those suits were tight but...

Oh my...I knew those suits were tight but those marks look almost painful. No wonder Phelps doesn't wear it for all his races. And when he does wear it, right after the race, he immediately pulls it down to the waist.

just re-affirms my fantasy of "doing it" in the pouring rain. :)

Nominations for post-competition hookups are now open

Judging by the horseplay going on after the medal ceremony, I nominate Aaron Piersol with the bedside backstroke to Jason Lizak's usual award-winning freestyle. Though there is something about Jason that says "power bottom" to me -- maybe it's connected to what makes him a power finisher in the pool. (This all may have been just a dream I had, of course.)

In other news: is it possible, NBC, that during the playing of the national anthem you could have panned to the other three American swimmers who also won gold medals in the 4x100 medley? Phelps was in the water one-fourth of the time, and there were three other reasons the victory was so decisive.
