Boondocks' History of Christmas

Anybody watch the animated cartoon Boondocks (based on the comic strip of the same name)? The show appears on the Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim," and follows the exploits of the precocious and put upon "Huey."

On a recent ep, Huey tries to set his grandfather straight on the origins of Christmas.

Huey: The truth is, Christmas evolved from the Roman Holiday Saturnalia, a winter festival where the men gave gifts to each other. They also would get drunk, have sex with each other, and beat their wives.

Okay, except for the "beat their wives" bit, Huey's little history lesson is pretty funny, and frankly gives gay secular humanists such as myself a whole new reason to celebrate Christmas.
