Neil Patrick Harris gets a first love

At last, on How I Met Your Mother, we finally get to find out how Neil Patrick Harris' womanizing character, Barney, lost his virginity. Seems he lost it to a much older, Mrs. Robinson-type woman, and the CBS series had a difficult time casting the part.

The role was originally pitched to Kirstie Alley, which would have been great casting! But the former Fat Actress passed on the role. Then the part went to the notoriously difficult Brett Butler (Grace Under Fire), but she split after one day of filming after it was mutually decided that the role "wasn't a good fit." This allowed character actress Stephanie Faracy to step into the role. (Faracy was most recently seen as Amanda's adoptive mother on Ugly Betty.)

Faracy's first appearance on How I Met Your Mother will air on November 26th.

I'm really bummed that Kirstie Alley didn't take this part. Fat or thin, she's always fun to watch. Faracy is a bit more of an unknown quantity, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see how she plays against Neil Patrick Harris.
