ATWT video clip update: Grandma got run over by a sleeping arrangement

Interesting happenings with our boys over on As the World Turns today. Luke makes Grandma Emma very uncomfortable when he asks if Noah can stay over for the holidays. When she puts the kibosh on his request Luke assumes the worst.

Luke: I get the feeling that she's not exactly comfortable with us being together.
Noah: What? You mean us seeing each other?
Luke: No. I mean us beeeeeing together. (wink wink)

Sounds like Luke is itching for a sleepover. Will Grandma's prudishness stand in their way? To find out what happens next check today's Nuke video clip, which appears after the break.

Also a must see: Brian's transplendent liveblog from earlier today. You can find earlier Nuke clips, liveblogs, and other fun stuff over on our ATWT Resource Page.

Fookin' hell man! They

Fookin' hell man! They should be constantly kissing each other by now! I'm so not used to this non-kissing portrayal of a gay couple...it feels alien to me. I think i'll have another peek at my John Paul and Craig videos.

Other than that, awww. What a lovely grandmother she is. How old is luke though? I mean he's a college right? So he should be at least 17 and in my opinion that's certainly old enough to be having sex, especially in a committed relationship anyway. But it is her house and she isn't being that unreasonable. Hopefully luke and noah can get some nookie elsewhere!

Doin' their best

I want them to kiss more, too, but I think they are doing the best they can under the constraints of daytime commercial television.  I sense that the CBS network is holding them back because of the complaints received after each of the previous two kisses.  To have a gay story line is itself very bold for daytime TV.   Yeah, we're used to watching Queer As Folk on pay cable...but this ain't pay cable.  It's very good for what it is.

What is this 1957 or 2007?!

I'm with Jason...WTF! I mean come on, it's just a kiss for crying out loud! If you can have rape, murder, attempted murder, adultary or abuse on this SOAP, then you can have a loving simple kiss between two men. We are not even talking deep throat here, just a little lip-lock.  They act more like a couple of mates than boyfriends. I know it's daytime TV, but it's just a little kiss. Infact...when was the last time we saw them in a decent loving hug? Sure they held hands for a few seconds today...big deal!  And how can they be talking about bedding together when we haven't even seen a build-up in their relationship?

I admit, getting spoilt by the John Paul/Craig story on HollyOaks, and I don't expect ATWT to be as forward with their kissing and intimate scenes, but I expected a little more than having to wait 3 month before I get a loving hug between Luke and Noah. They're suppose to be crazy about each other. so why just a few seconds of hand holding every few weeks?  Are American audiences that affraid of two fictional male characters showing loving feelings beween each other, or did the TPTB over at ATWT Choke?  Personally, I think ATWT choked because from what i've read on other message boards, most fans are in support of this relationship. They want more not less of Luke and Noah.

Lets be honest, we all know if this were a straight couple they would have kissed for ages, bedded, kissed for ages some more and maybe even be making marriage plans by now.  The TPTB over at ATWT need to stop insulting the intelligence of their audience and just give Luke and Noah a proper loving relationship. Stop the BS and get on with it!

EEWWWW

"Word to the wise Noah, you Do Not Turn Down my Grandma's Cookies" - Luke

"I was distracted by the smell" - Noah

HAHAHAHA

Am I the only one who picked up on the disgusting double entendre?

Janet's picture

Really, too true...

<<<<Am I the only one who picked up on the disgusting double entendre?>>>>>

Apparently, yeah. Heh.

But it's so true. The violence, the cheatin, and debauchery that they show on soaps and they can't show two gorgeous teen boys snuzzeling a little? It's ridiculous. The gay teens that might catch this show need a little more reality in the story to keep the interest up. If the producers are really serious about making the gay storyline be "normal and accepted" they need to portray it that way. There is no way these boys wouldn't be all over each other every chance they got. Show it in a responsible manner but show it real. A man's sexual prime is the age of 19. It's all downhill after that, sorry fellas.

If you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning.

The kisses are over

Someone got to ATWT. I don't think they will ever let Noah and Luke kiss again. I hope AE will try to ask ATWT what is going on.

Affection is a lost cause

The lack of affection between Luke and Noah has gotten to the point of being laughable, now.  These guys have got to be the most platonic couple in the history of television.  They have been together for almost 3 months now and all they have done on camera is hold hands.  They haven't kissed each other once, they haven't even HUGGED each other.  What...a freaking hug is off limits now too?  Cover the children's eyes...we can't have two gays hugging.  Jack and Brad are brothers and even THEY have hugged.

I'm almost positive the homophobes must have called in in HUGE numbers after the historic first kiss to voice their complaints and now ATWT is afraid to show anything more.  You know what's funny?  I don't even care about them having sex right now.  It's fun to picture in my head, yes, but right now, I'd settle for a kiss or even a peck on the cheek at least a couple times a MONTH.  How sad is that?

You have to hand it to ATWT.  They have come up with every possible excuse in the world to keep the PDA from low to non-existent.  The guys have only kissed each other twice and BOTH times, the kisses were cut short because of interuptions.  The second kiss was edited down and shorted before airing on TV.  A third kiss was cut out completely and didn't air at all.  Since becoming a couple, every time they're about to kiss, somebody conveniantely walks in the room and prevents them.  On the fishing trip of doom, Luke actually turned down a kiss from Noah even though he thought they were alone.  Once Luke got injured, we all learned that being confined to a wheel chair prevents ANY human contact with your boyfriend whatsoever.   The way scenes are edited when Noah leaves, he's already gone once the scene shifts back to the Snyder kitchen.  I guess that's so they don't have to show a goodbye kiss between the guys.

After yesterday's episode, I've completely given up on seeing any physical acknowledgement between this couple.  I'm not asking for a full Thanksgiving meal here, just a little something MORE than bread crumbs.

I totally agree, the lack

I totally agree, the lack of physical affection is maddening, along with the fact that they're never on.  It sounds like CBS is trying to keep the storyline low profile to avoid backlash, which is pretty ridiculous since we've seen a lot racier stuff on Brothers & Sisters and Desperate Housewives without any controversy.  These network guys are still stuck in 1985.

I'm just glad for Hollyoaks on BBCAmerica.  In about 3 weeks John Paul's boyfriend Spike comes on the scene and there will be a lot more boy-on-boy kissing!

We're spoiled

Yeah it's frustrating not to see more affection between the guys but this is DAYTIME COMMERCIAL TV...not pay-cable Showtime.  We've been spoiled by Queer As Folk.  We should be glad the story line is there at all, really - what other soaps have even that crumb for us?   Yeah we all want more but consider the confines of the medium.  Just having anything gay at all is commendable.  If they were kissing more, these comments would be why aren't we seeing them in bed naked?  More more more....

It's one thing to be glad

It's one thing to be glad that the show is displaying a daytime gay teen romance, it's another to be happy with the status quo the second you get, as the metaphor has been going in this thread, a crumb. When they start serving whole turkeys, or loaves of bread or whatever, then I think we'll be happy.

Actually, we're not spoiled at all.  We get next to nothing.  Gay characters on TV shows are already rare enough these days.  On American soaps, in the year 2007, As the world turns is the only (ONLY!) soap opera that even has a gay character in it.

I never really even cared for Queer as Folk.  They showed no shortage of PDA which was nice but that's ALL it was to me.  Sex, sex, sex.

I don't have to see humping every day between Luke and Noah...just let the guys kiss once in a blue moon...even if it's a peck.  I'm not asking for much here.  This 2nd grade hand holding and nothing else is so painfully awkward.  The show would have to be idiots not to realize this.  Or maybe they're just stupid enough to think we don't notice.

Considering what soap operas

have put on in the past between straight couples, I find it hilarious that these two have been shown acting like a couple of love sick 12 year olds, instead of randy young men in their late teens. I never got past the third date without, well you know! Cheers JBE
